I am going to be replacing the weather stripping on my doors. What I am wondering is do they make a glue remover so I can clean off the old glue before I put on the new weather stripping.
Was I the one who said the  list is getting smaller(LOLLOL),well I am working on the things that I can do in the drive way for now the so called little things.

Rick,

3M also makes an adhesive remover which comes in an aerosol can. Most auto parts or auto body suppliers should carry it.

You sure are getting quite a few things done on that vert of yours. Good goin'! Thumbs Up
Kevin

I used the 3M product when I replaced my door seals. It did the job.

Hey Rick,

I recall reading here that you have to properly clean off the new weather strips before installation. Some type of stuff comes on them that won't allow them to stick to the new adhesive.

Does this ring a bell? Just a heads up (if needed) before you start the job.
Kevin

Rick, be careful with the adhesive remover. That stuff can dMage upholstry and finishes. I would spray it on a rag away from the car and try a test spot to see how it's working first...

I also used the 3M remover; it works good, but the key is elbow grease!

The remover I have is not spray; I bought a 1 Qt metal can thingy.  Poured it on a rag and scrubbed... and scrubbed and then...  scrubbed!  Actually; the doors are the easy part.  The T-Tops grooves are a pain.

Before installing the new weather strip; I cleaned the weather strip and the surface with alcohol.

As for the adhesive, I also used the 3M brand.  Really happy with the results!
