Hello again. I seem to need some more advise from you guys! I have a 1975 Vette that will be getting a paint job next year. The problem with the hood is that both rear corners stick up and don't look real great. I have been told that you can heat the material up and bend it to where you want it to be. Is this true? Has anyone out there tried this method and had some luck. Thanks, Darrell

You can certainly TRY that trick, but you may not like the results...Angry
Hoods on these cars do have a tendency to stick up a little high on the rear corners. They also seem to dip down a little in the middle, on the outer edges, where they go above the tire area. It's the nature of the beast....fiberglass tends to warp over time, plus, these things were never "perfect" to begin with.
Check to see if your car has the hood "bumpers" on the fender ledge, about center from front to rear. Some cars had them from the factory, some didn't. These "bumpers" are there to try to keep the hood level with the fender line, and it also helps to lower the rear corners some. I have a pic somewhere....lemmie look and see if I can find it....might take a while, unless someone else has one handy....

Well...I couldn't find what I was looking for, but I did find this, to help explain the rubber blocks....

I took a shim out of the latch in the back an put in two rubber bumpers.  It leveled out the hood real good.  Not prefect but a lot better.

I may have been lucky but there was a ship under the part of the latch that is on the hood.
