Okay the car has beaten me.

I can't get the e-brake back together without taking the spindles out. SO I've made the decision to just get it over with and do it.

When I pull them out, will I regret it? How will it affect the bearings, trailing arms, etc..? Will the training arms need to be rebuilt?  What am I missing?

 Jim

P.S. Sorry I've been missing in action. Finishing my degree is KILLING me.....

Jim, it sure as heck ain't easy to do but it REALLY can be done with enough time and blue language without pulling the spindles.

My hands shake too much....

I tried the dental floss method. I tried the safety wire method, I tried tweezers, pliers and tongue depressers.  I want the car back on the road so.....

Jim I gotta admit...I've never done shoes without the spindle off...so I can only hear about it and never want go waste my time messing with them for a weekend when I can pull the spindle and put it back on with ease....the only problem with my method is I spent the money on the tools to do it..I'm a tech so spending 300$ on some tools is really easy..I also know time is money..so they have already paid for themselves several times over..they are not hard to do...you might get away with a lot less than that if you go with some cheaper tools that aren't meant to last..I planned on using mine more than once so I got the good ones..it would make for a chance to get some fresh grease on the bearings too..it's really not all the technical!!

There's a spindle press type or another that screws on the end of the spindle and hit that with a hammer..then there's the install tool..it pulls the spindle thru the bearings..I have the press style because it doesn't stress the bearings when it's used ..on and off is it..these cost about 125$ or so if you get the non press style..got mine from MAM..just grease the heck out if the bearings when you go back together.
