Confused
I went out to start the 82 and it wasnt running right (just didnt sound right), so I popped the hood and noticed that the NEW rear injector was not firing at all... ok so I took it out made sure their was nothing plugging it, fuel comming out of the throttle body tells me its getting fuel, I swapped the new one out with the old one I saved (originally wasnt the injector issue by the way)(throttle body tops were on backwards ie fuel regulator on passanger side instead of drivers side)
I looked at the fuse box and the injector fuse was not the right fuse 5 instead of 3 (so at one point this issue has happened in the past with this car otherwise it would have the correct fuse I am assuming), it was blown. so I replaced the fuse and turned the key on, the passanger side injector responded but the driver side still nothing. I rechecked the fuse and it was blown again, so I put another fuse in it, I repeated this a few times.... when i was satisfied that I had a short I began to chase wires- I have an 82 wiring diagram from C3 Registry top of this section on electical, the wires from the injector to the fire wall showed no signs of bear wiring or melted wires.
I got under the dash and still couldnt find any melted or bear wires, the ecm wires out no issues their as well.

Anyone had this issue and if so how did you solve it? I cant find the short!

I am not really sure what the issue was but I removed the Bat, disconected the ecm, inspected the pigtails for corrosion (none) then proceeded to take the outer caseing off the ecm, the unit had not smell of a fried resistor, I wipped off the connections to the pigtails, put it back together and reinstalled it.
She started right up, no fuse blowing, yea running rich but thats par for the corse when the ecm has no power to it. both injectors are firing as they should, the conical spray doesnt look like it should I really need to put an inline fuel pressure between the throttle bodies and find a double d wrench to adjust the pressure properly, just eyeballing it isnt working.
I am in the market for those pieces if anyone knows where i can come up with them.
thank you

I have a DCS fuel pressure gauge on my crossfire but from Kwoodie's recent experience, they can be difficult to get their products.  I would think that an inline pressure gauge could be fabbed up from tubing and a small gauge from the parts store but it would take some work to do.  The problem is usually getting the original crossover line between the throttle bodies off in one piece.  As for the adjusting tool, DCS also sells those but may not be available.  I "home brewed" one from some copper tubing, a short piece of round aluminum stock, and a flexible shaft carburator tool from Pep Boys.  I sure ain't going to get any engineering awards but it does work well.  It will take come careful bending to get the radius right so that it will slide into the bottom of the drivers side throttle body but it can be done.

Doesn't take much of a load to pop a 3 amp fuse. The infectors get power from the fusebox, and the ECM grounds them to make them operate. So, the infectors should always have 12v with the key on. A slightly whacky infector could cause the fuse to pop. I can't see anything on the ground(ECM) side of the circuit that would cause the fuse to blow like that. You should be able to ground the one side of the injector for a while without blowing a fuse. Of course, it would pop if you held it to ground for too long, since the coil of the infector would get hot.
That's strange....

The big problem you are going to have is getting an aniline fuel gage.  Or something that will allow you to measure the fuel pressure.  Getting the fuel line off between the TBI's is really hard to do.  I was mangled mine but I had a gage from DCS on hand before I started so I was not concerned.

I know people have had issues with DCS and but I would try to contact them maybe what ever issues they had are over with and they are responsive again.  They were OK to deal with when I dealt with them.   Just be careful I would give them a call and establish voice contact and make sure they had the parts available for shipment.

As far as it goes if you have the proper tools manufacture the fuel line is no big deal. Any tubing shop worth it's salt can do that.  I T-connector that you mount a gage on would also work.  Note I said any tubing shop.  Where I used to work that would not have been an issue I have know idea where you would find a tubing shop outside the military.  know an military guys?  Every base would have someone that can do that for you.  Have an airplane got to have that capability to repair battle damage.
