I'm trying to delete the "pulse" wipers from my 78. I can't find a "no pulse" wiper switch anywhere. If someone has a link for me to buy one, or has an OE "no pulse" switch laying around, I think I could get the job done. However.....

To work around the "pulse" switch, I bought aftermarket jumper wires. These jumper wires take the "pulse" module out of the wiper harness, but I can't figure out how to wire the rest of it.

As part of my restoration, I removed all of the old wiring in the car and I'm installing an after market wiring kit from American Autowire. The kit includes a fuse panel that has blade type fuses, and, only one wire coming out, that is to go to the wiper motor. This is complicating things for me since the OE "pulse" harness has the circuit board that takes the place of the glass type fuse in the OE fuse box. This circuit board has two wires, one brown with an inline fuse, and one yellow. Both lead into the "pulse" module.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

When we bought our '78 the "pulse" module had been disabled simply by removing the strange circuit board thing from the fuse box and replacing it with a normal glass fuse.   I seem to recall that this did give two speed wipers, but no delay feature.  The washers still worked in the normal way, ie with a push of the switch.

I don't know if that is an option for you?

I re-instated the "pulse-delay" module when I was able to find a replacement relay for it and I hardly ever now use the wipers in the "on" position, a delayed wipe is usually ample, especially if travelling at anything much over about 50mph.

Since then I know that a solid state pulse-delay unit is available which I am told improves things.

Thank you for the info. The glass fuse/circuit board thing is what was holding me up since I replaced the OE fuse box with an aftermarket blade fuse power panel. I have since found a "no pulse" switch. Probably the last one for sale on the planet. I may miss the pulse wipers in the future and it's good to know that there is a solid state module out there.
