I'm having a problem with the turn signal switch -- it's very hard to get it set into the middle "off position."  The canceler works fine both directions, but often times when it cancels it will turn the signal on for the other direction - especially when I'm turning left, right blinker will come on.  It's also a problem when manual canceling, like changing lanes -- very hard to get it so neither signal is on.  This wouldn't be so bad if the indicator lights would tell me the signal is on, but for some reason my signals can actually be operating outside the car, but if the switch is not all the way in the signaling position the dashboard indicator lights will not work.  So I find myself trying to listen for the clicking of the relay - very tough to do on the freeway with the top off!  

Do I just need a new switch or is there an adjustment or fix that I can do?  I haven't taken the steering wheel off yet to check things out.

Dave...have you been into the column recently? If NOT, then the switch itself is prolly just slap worn out, or partially melted. Either way, it sounds like yer gunna be diggin into the column...Ouch

Thanks, Joel.  I forgot to mention in the original post that this started happening after I replaced the ignition switch so it could be something I didn't get adjusted quite right.  I will probably end up replacing the switch this fall, but other than this "no middle" issue the switch seems to be in pretty good shape.  Nice tight detents and smooth operation, no sloppiness.  But I can't mess with it right now anyway - the Vette is a daily driver for a few days (possibly weeks) because I sold my truck and haven't replaced it yet!
