Putting the water pump back on today and I seem to be short 1 bolt an others are not fitting correctly.

I took this off several months ago as part of a larger project and now that I'm getting back to it, I'm realizing that my notes and pictures are not serving me well.  Here's where I stand (in frustration) right now.

As you face the front of the motor, the lower right (driver's side from this direction) bolt is secured.  And that's about all the good news I have.  The upper bolt on that side should be the alternator and AIR pump bracket stud but one side is too long and the other too short.  I'm sure I have the brackets in the wrong order or a spacer missing.
What order do these go on?

On the passenger side, there's just no love at all.  What I had labeled as the lower left bolt is tight but sticking out about 3/4 of an inch like there should be some type of bracket between the head and the pump but I can't remember if one was there.  The upper bolt is just gone baby gone.

I've checked my assembly manual and shop manuals but don't see a good schematic or write up.  Does anyone have pictures?  The motor is an all stock 1975 L82.

I'm hoping to get this buttoned up and on the road for the last few nice weekends of the year up here in MA.

Does the car have A/C or not?
As far as which bracket goes where, I'd have to look at the Assy manual meself before I could say for sure. Did you change the water pump, and if so, is it EXACTLY like the old one?

Joel - Some day I'll remember to add all the necessary details. Yes it is an AC car with the original A6 compressor and the original smog pump. The water pump is also original to the car. I think the bracket to the smog pump may supply the necessary spacing on the passenger side. On the driver's side there's a stud that goes in the upper bolt hole and holds the smog pump and alternator adjustment bars but it appears to need a spacer. Wondering if someone can snap a pic of that stud. Thanks for your help, Jim

Update - ok, I've got the passenger side figured out.  It was a matter of remembering to put on the AC bracket and smog pump bracket.  That side is all set but I'm still having trouble with the stud on the driver's side.  I think there should be a spacer or a washer in there somewhere but I can't find a good schematic to explain where or what size.
Any help is still greatly appreciated.

JD

JD - looks like you needed this a few days ago, but hope this helps. Took a picture but it will not attach. My car is a '73 L-82 with the original AIR pump and alternator bracket installed. The spacer I think your looking for is between the alternator bracket and the WP housing. Mine measures .165" or a little under 3/16" thick. Looking in from the drivers side of the engine at the top WP mount, the order from right to left is ................1. WP housing up against engine block...............2. .165" spacer on stud.................3. alternator bracket.....................4. lock washer and nut holding alt. bracket and WP....................5. AIR bracket.......................6. lock washer and nut holding AIR bracket. All of my brackets and pulley align and there is about 1/4" of the stud sticking out of the last nut.  PM  me your e-mail address and I'll send you the photo if you need it. Not sure why it won't attach. Good Luck !! Note - the AIR bracket I refer to is the one for tensioning the AIR belt, not the bracket that mounts the AIR pump. That one is on the passenger side with the AC bracket if you have one.
