Vette(s): 1982 C3 Collectors Edition 44000 miles, sat in the sun most of it's life, My wife purchased it for me for fathers day in 2007 from her girl friend that had it for 19 years. It is on the road again. I'm retired but it is now my daily driver.
I'm still trying to get my 82 crossfire running smooth. I have just a little time before I have to go overseas for a couple of weeks (Short trip) but I would like to get some ideas from people that have worked with the crossfire. I'm going to post this a couple of places but C3VR seems to be the most active board.
I used Steve Simpson's alignment procedures. Build a water manometer (worked great and was easy to do). Set Rear TB to 6 inches of water Set Front TB to 6 inches of water
Upon connecting both Rear and Front TB's to manometer had to readjust the Front to get them balanced Was off by 2 inches or so.
Front TB does not seem to draw any noticeable increase in vacuum upon acceleration. So I check around it for vacuum leaks and found none (used carb cleaner sprayed around base to check).
Does not look like the front injector is spraying as fine of a mist as the rear injector so I may have an injector issue also but I would not think this would cause the radical vacuum issue I have?
I moved the linkage around to check for leaks around the shafts none. I did have to push the linkage down on the rear TB to get it to seat on the screw.
