I had my '79 out yesterday and noticed the odor of gas fumes.
It seemed like the odor increased as I drove the car harder, like when the secondaries kicked in. I got on it a few times and definitely noticed an increase of the gas fumes odor.
No obvious leaks or puddles under the car after I parked it. Any ideas?
P.S. It has the Q-Jet which was rebuilt a few years ago and the gas tank is pretty close to full.

How about on the intake manifold? Any staining there? Check the rubber lines from the carb to the vapor canister on the driver side lower fender. Also check the hoses on the tank, both side. A leak there may not show on the floor, as the fuel might evaporate before dripping to the ground.
