Heat seems to be the BIG problem with sidepipe headers on C3s. I'm install a set on my car now. I got thinking (has anyone tried rapping the inserts with header rap?) It stands to reason if it works on header tubes to keep the engine compartment cooler and keep the heat in. It should work on the insets to keep the outer tubes cooler to prevent leg burns. I'm sure I'm not the first to think of this. Anybody have input on this issue? Sound good or not. Pros and cons? Thanks , George

I went with the ceramic coated side pipes when I replaced mine. You will still get a burn if you linger on them, but it's not instantaneous like it is with the stainless steel. Still, they are hot. And you do smell like exhaust after driving for a while. But the look and sound you get from them makes it all worth it. And really, it doesn't take long to train yourself to properly exit the car. One burn is all it took me!
