Jack, I'm sure there is a conversion "kit" somewhere, probably a "universal" type thing.Does your carby have a choke housing on the side, with a tube that used to run thru the manifold? If so, you could change the outer cover and make it an electrical choke. Plug a couple of holes, and then you would only need a 12v supply wire to it to make it work. A lot easier than trying to rig a manual cable on it, imho.

Several years ago I got an electric choke kit from NAPA for my C3. The original choke was tube heated, and I put on headers and a different intake manifold which eliminated the heat supply. The original heat tube was in the intake manifold.
It connects to a constant power supply, and ignition power, and ground. It then connects to the choke coil heater. The kit included the choke coil with heater. I am very happy with the kit and its operation. Initial adjustment is a bit of an experiment, but not all that difficult. After tweaking through several warm up cycles it works very well, and has for several years now.
They do have another kit for the chokes with the heated tube setup. It attaches to the exhaust manifold to heat the tube that now attaches to the choke in the same manner as the original. Fairly easy to install and set up. Not so much with headers. With headers you could use a brake line and wrap it around a header tube several times, then just run it up to the choke tube connector and attach it. Leave the bottom side open. Not attractive, but very functional.
Yes there is the cable, but not a great choice. They required a bit more effort on the drivers part. I have had them on a few older cars. One of them was factory. I do look at these as a last ditch effort. My old Plymouth had a cable choke when I got the car. Almost 40 years ago my new bride dropped me off at work (I drove) and used the car on her day off. When it came time to pick me up she had trouble starting the car, then remembered to pull the choke knob. She also forgot to push it back in. When she got to my job the car was bucking, shaking, and smoking. She was about to panic, wondering what had happened and if our car was dying. She got even more upset when I started to laugh at her distress. I walked to the smoking shaking machine, pushed the choke knob, raced the engine a few time, watched huge clouds of crud roll out of the back end, and then viola! it ran fine. She felt a lot better but was a bit ticked at me for laughing.
