Hey all. I am looking to buy a 69 350/350 4spd with ac and pb... But no ps. Its pretty original/correct, its the colors I want, and the drivetrain I want, but that ps is a big minus for driveability, to me. I see some kits for sale that convert 68-74s to ps... Heres my question (excuse the inevitable dumbness and link me where its been answered please). Is the 74 cutoff because 75s on all had ps? Assuming I have a good donor parts car 76, which I already do (I own a good one and a mostly complete parts 76) could I use the parts or most of the ps parts from it?

I don't know if there any differences in the power steering systems throughout the the '68-'82 vettes.

But if you buy this car and can use the power steering components from a '81 I can hook you up with just about everything to convert it over. Cheap too.

I put a Borgsen steering box in mine, and I'm in the process of putting a LS1 in the car.

So I have the pump w/brackets, steer cylinder, steer cylinder frame bracket, control valve, hoses, pulley that goes on the crank pulley for the P/S belt.

Send me a message if you do wind up buying the car and can use these parts.

Your car,so you do what you want, but my 74 doesn't have power steering (or power brakes) and the only time I notice not having it is when I have to park in a tight spot. I'll admit that can be a pain, but its rare. I actually like that the car doesn't have it. And since you say the car is pretty original, I'm not sure you would want to mess with it. Again, that's just my 2 cents - your car, make it what you want. Enjoy!

I wanted a Corvette my whole life, but I never dreamed of all the wonderful people I would meet because of it!
