1982 C3 Collectors Edition 44000 miles, sat in the sun most of it's life, My wife purchased it for me for fathers day in 2007 from her girl friend that had it for 19 years. It is on the road again. I'm retired but it is now my daily driver.

I'm going to repair my power steering leak this weekend.  I got a really good deal on everything but the pump which is the one thing that does not seem to be leaking.
Is there anything I should be aware of (tips or tricks) before I start this.  The front end is all new so this should be the last of the issues I have to fix when it comes to steering.
Also I would like to pack the front wheels as that has not been done sence I have had the car and may never have been done.  What should I know about that other than the normal stuff I have packed wheels on my older cars before.
I just thought that I would ask in advance for onces.

Ermm The valve on the linkage will have to be balanced. Be VARY careful. When you first start the car, DO NOT hold the steering wheel. I am not good at putting info on the site, but read up on the process, BEFORE you start the car. On the outward end of the valve there is a cover. Under it is a small screw which will center the pressure in the valve. It has to be adjusted to equalize the pressure to both sides. IF it is off balance it will jerk the wheel out of your hand and could be mean on fingers. Shut the car off and turn screw in the direction needed to balance the pressure, and start over. I'm sure there is a thread out there dealing with it, OR Adams Apple, or someone who can put printed directions on,  can advise you.

Pay close attention of the routing of the hoses. As for the wheel bearings it's just like any older car. Inspect the races & bearings. When I got my 68 12 yrs ago I did the bearings & decided to just put in everything new for the piece of mind as they're not that much money. Just get american made bearings if you go that rt.
