Hekllo friends - I have a question that I am sure one of you can answer - at speeds above 70 (which I know I shoiuldn't be driving) the front end starts to shake - not a lot but enough to be of concern. Any ideas what could be causing that? I recently had the front end aligned and wheels balanced but the problem continues. We put a 2010 crate 383 in it last winter and I have the speed direct A-arm replacements and new stabilizer bars. I am at a loss but would sure lioke some ideas. Thanks

Can you feel the shaking in the steering whel? Can you feel it in the seatr?? What speed does it start and stop (if stop at all!)
Dan
You could also have a tire problem like a bent rim or a broken belt inside the tire. Are your tires very old?? + 6 years?? I had a tire with a damaged belt that took me a while to figure out what was wrong.
Good Luck DB

I have some input..depends on the wheels and tires you have..if the tires bulge out because the wheel width might be a little small, the wheel balancer will not compensate for the extra tire..go back to where you had them balanced and tell them to set the machine to the Fine setting..this will take out the little balance issue the machine set at normal will not do..also you can road force balance the tire with a Hunter machine..they have a search on their website to find shops that have it..there is an extreme setting on that machine that match balances the tire to the rim..not many people know how to do this on that machine but I use it on the front of mine and no shakes up 120 + so far..also check your lug nuts and make sure they are not loose! Just kidding ..wheel bearings being a little loose can make some weird shakes also..when they are bad though and I don't think yours are..being you just put new suspension up front..

Don"t forget to check your wheel bearings! They will dry out over time and the race will deform. Best of luck.

How 'bout yer shocks? How old are they?
Combine older shocks with a slightly out-o-balance tire/rim, and you'll get a pretty good bounce at that speed.
Is the steering wheel shaking left/right, or do you just feel a bad shake/vibration? If the steering is jerking back/forth, you got a bad rim/tire, and possibly a tie-rod end....

I had a vibration around 70. It smoothed out around 80. It was not right. When I put new tires on my 82 it was smooth past 100. Maybe swap the fronts for the rears and see what happens. I'm in Arizona. If you drive at 55-65 you will never leave the state.

Hey Ken. I'm sure you tried rotating the tires front to back see if it made a difference, as per Kwoody?
