Yes pic 1 is the front gap if you look closely at the 3" mark on the ruler you can see the fender flare edge. Sorry it's not the greatest. Both front and rear gaps measured the same .

I figured it out. it was very frustrating. the frame is perfectly square. the suspension is square. the pre-molded one piece fiber glass front end is improperly molded. it is the matching length over the gills.

we used tram bars and the distance from the door seam to the front of the fender well is even on both sides. the curve down on the back of the drivers side is wrong.

basically think of it as an arch with a blunted end.

the good news is that he told the frame was straighter than it should be on a 45 yr old car.

the ball joints locations are perfect. There is very little sag in the cradle. Feels pretty dumb to have been stuck because of an uneven mold on a reproduction part.

Glad to hear you got it sorted out. Sorry I didn't get those other photo measurements to you but in the end it sounds like they wouldn't have made a difference. The GREAT news is the frame and suspension are as they should be - PERFECT...!!!

Glad you figured it out! Sorry I didn't measure the pass side for you but it's a moot point now. I had already taken all the rubber off the car based on the thread about old tires. Bought new Goodrich Radial TA's. Good luck.

This makes you feel dumb? Brother, there isn't enough web space on the internet to put down what makes me feel dumb...This wouldn't make it into the cliff notes. The work you're doing in tracking it down was inspiring! I would've fixed it with duct tape LOL
