I am in need of a complete driver seat. The one I have needs everything including seat back, cushions, leathers and all hardware. I am not restoring this car, but making it clean and daily driven so I would rather buy a complete used seat in good condition. Problem is that all used seats in good condition seem to be passenger seats.

I was hoping that I could just bolt a passenger seat in place and be done with it. They look identical while bolted in the car, but since I am driving the car I have yet to pull them out to actually see..

Any advice is appreciated,
Pat

Yes the driver and passenger seats are the same..other than wear & tear..:)Funny that the Corvettes really only have ONE proper way to get into and out of..:)
First, one sits on the seat with feet out on the ground.
Then he or she brings one leg at a time into the car as one swivels on the seat BOTTOM..If necessary, the steering wheel is tilted upward to allow more access..

One sees a lot of driver's seats that the back is worn badly from the butt sliding down when the driver entered wrong..:(

Getting out is the reverse..ALSO, on the older vettes, REMEMBER to make certain the seat belt is retracted into the car well so one DOESN'T slam the belt/buckle in the door jamb..:(...:(
Seats can be restored by a good upholsterer..Including springs, foam as well as correct color seat upholstery-style..Jim

Yup....they're the same. Check the seat adjustment lever....it's on the outside on one side, on the inside on the other side. Wink  Swapping side/side on a convertible with shoulder belts would require swapping the seatbacks, since the belts go thru the seatbacks, but the seat BOTTOMS are the same both sides, until the '78 Pacer came out.
