I just received a letter from Lance Miller (text below). I'm not sure we can do anything about it at this point, but perhaps contacting him might make a difference. If I remember correctly, some people had trouble registering with C3VR as their club affiliation, so maybe that is why our number was lower than 20. Did anyone have that trouble? Maybe if enough people did, we can get them to give us one more year. I just don't know if it would help at this point.

This will obviously make it very hard for everyone to park together this year.

Update 4/17/2013: We have been granted space for one more year, but you must register correctly. Please see this thread on how to register properly. |

Dear Adam,
As the New Year approaches I have began to eagerly plan for Corvettes at Carlisle 2013. As you know, your club is one of the several grandfathered clubs that have participated at our events from previous years. I truly appreciate your continued participation however as indicated in my letter dated September 7th, 2011 I have had to stress the importance of participation in order to maintain your club spot.
Based in the last three (3) years registration numbers, your club was significantly below the required 20 Fun Field pre-registrations required to maintain your reserved spot. With this being said, I will regretfully have to eliminate your spot from the Fun Field for 2013.
(then it goes on to talk about the new "Club Tent" which is a paid space/booth, not a parking area.)
Life is good!
Lance Miller

WTF??
I always registered under C3VR, I dont know how anyone could have any problems in doing so. You simply write it on the registration form under "affiliation" or "group" or whatever the hell the box says.
This is total crap!

Have we had the min 20? We have always registered under C3VR also.....ebo
I also have pre-registered under C3VR the last several years. I do remember 1 year that I chose C3VR & it was not on my sticker. Could we have possibly even fit 20 cars in that spot? I know we couldn't have fit another car in last year, but I don't know how many we had.

Vette(s): 1972 conv, 4-speed, 350, 200hp, numbers match, rally wheels, war bonnett yellow w/white top. good condition, nice driver.

I regestered under C3VR and it was not on my sticker, it just said fun field. May be the numbers are low because they were not picking up the club info on the registration.

So does that mean there will be another group assigned to that spot or can we just park there anyhow?

My guess is they'll either assign that space to another group, or it will become general parking. So, I just went to the 2013 Online Registration page, and see under the Club list, it has "C3 Registry" AND "C3VR" as two separate selections. I wonder if some people from our group picked "C3 Registry" last year. Apparently, that is actually a different group - remember the "C3 Registry" group photo at the grandstand last year?

The spot will most likely got to "Corvette Pals". It was posted this morning that they are leading the club registrations with 17 entrants so far. I am already but maybe all of us going to Carlisle should join Corvette Pals so we have a place to park

That doesn't really help our cause, Dan. That only helps Corvette Pals. Nothing against them, but they are a different group.
I just spoke with Lance Miller...
He is going to give us another year. So we WILL have a space for C3VR folks in 2013. But you guys are going to have to help out and make sure to register naming us as your Club Affiliation, not Corvette Pals.
They are going to update the registration page to make sure to indicate our club name correctly, as soon as they are done, I will message everyone to tell them what name to use when they register. So if you have not registered yet, please wait until I get the word that the registration page has been updated.
Thanks!
