Ben,
Looking good. From the pictures the seats turn out quite well.

Hope the tool and video helped.

I look forward to cruising our vettes when you get it done.

You just need to stay focused (and work all night instead of sleeping)! You don't give yourself enough credit. You're doing much better than many of us would. I can't wait to see this animal!

Without seeing the pics(dial-up SUX), the VIN tag should be positioned to where you can read it from the outside of the car. There should be a small cut-out in the pillar post trim panel for it, to give you an idea of where to put it up/down on the pillar.

Looks cerrect to me....Thumbs Up

you did..  but that was just the drivetrain sitting on the frame and that was august of 2009.

2.5 years ago.  everything was powered off of an external 12V power supply and a basically just rigged up.

this is a "functional" start.  Once I get this done ill be putting a seat in, bleeding the brakes and getting it aligned.

I want to bounce it around a little before go much further on body work.

if you think it was "not unbearably loud" then the camera didnt refelct it well.  It is really loud.  I did start it up again with mufflers today and it is sooooooo much better.

I really didnt think they would be that effective since they are just a pass through with a screen and a drop from 4" to 2.5".

It does sound a lot better with the mufflers, Ben! Has a nice tone to it, like controlled aggresion! I still saw steam coming up in the front. Did you wash it down again? I never have listed all my expenses. I believe I would have a heart attack if I did (and if I didn't, my wife would KILL me!).

Jaws79 said: It does sound a lot better with the mufflers, Ben! Has a nice tone to it, like controlled aggresion! I still saw steam coming up in the front. Did you wash it down again? I never have listed all my expenses. I believe I would have a heart attack if I did (and if I didn't, my wife would KILL me!).

these links work fine.

It feels great Joel...  I am a little concerned about the traction.  It spins a little too easily.  I knew moving from a 7.4 (2.2*3.36) launch ratio to a 9.6 (2.87*3.36) was going to make a difference but this was too effortless.  Once I actually get it tuned and running right the tires wont stand a chance.  Once these melt off I will try to put some 305's on the rear.

this was my last work before the summer.  I really havent worked all summer.  lots of other projects (expanding my house).

ive been stuck trying to figure out a wheel spacing problem.

my drivers wheel is further back in the wheel well.

the fiberglass is squared to the body. I checked this over and over.

the problem is the wheelbase is shorter on the left side than the right.  even after an alignment.

How do I move the wheel forward 3/4"????

here is the most recent work.

Looks good , Ben! But that video (at least what I saw) is such a tease! One little blub and that's it! You had better have it done by spring or we'e going to organize a trip to see it in it's natural habitat (your house!). Don't have a clue on the alignment issue. Is the frame good (I sure hope so at this point!)? Keep up the good work!

Yeah the frame is square And in spec for length as well I tried loosening the bushing bolts an tightening the rear ones first to push it forward and it only took about 1/4" out

Ben,
I have no useful advise other than put a bigger tire on the one side to make it look the same!
Now just for kicks, are they the same size tires?
Joe

Well...this is gunna sound stoopid, and I prolly know the answer anyway, but I gotta ask....are you sure the upper control arms are on the correct side of the car? They will fit on either side, but the wheels will not be centered properly if reversed, or one of them is wrong. I said it was a stoopid question, but still had to ask. NO offense intended. Big smile
That's really the only thing I can think of if you are certain the frame is right....
