LOOKING FOR INFO ON MY '76 VETTE - ITIS CLASSIC WHITE & HAS BI-CENTENNIAL DETAILS. I AM TOLD THIS WAS AN OPTION (AFTERMARKET?). I HAVEN'T FOUND ANY INFO ON THIS & WOULD LIKE TO FIND OUT IF IT IS ORIGINAL. I HAVE NEVER SEEN A VETTE LIKE THIS & AM LOOKING TO SEE IF IT IS RARE OR COMMON? UNFORTUNATELY, I NEED TO SELL - I HAVE THE ORIGINAL TITLE, WINDOW STICKER & TIRES (TIRES ARE NO LONGER ON THE CAR) - WILL THIS MAKE THIS CAR MORE APPEALING OR WORTH MORE??? LOOKING FOR $10K. THANKS FOR THE INPUT. NOWAK87@JUNO.COM

Believe it or not, I have heard of a deal like you describe. I think it is a dealer inspired thing, but I can't remember which dealer was doing it. Can you post a pic of the car? I got an idea of what they looked like, but...it has been a day or two since I've seen one...

I think that Chevrolet produced one of these Corvettes for every Chevy dealer in 1976 to celebrate the Bicentennial. The ones I've seen have all been white with a red interior... is there some kind of special fender emblem also?

Thanx! That rattled me brain a bit, and I think you're right. I know there weren't a lot of them, and they weren't something you could "order" as a regular option(RPO). I do know I've seen one or two over the years.
Since there have been several others that have offered to help post the pic, I'll just wait for them to put it up.
Anyone have the Aug-Sept. 1976 issue of Corvette News? It has an article on the Colye Chevrolet Bicentennial Edition Corvette...
And then there's this, from one of them "Wall Street Journal" types...
"In 1976, GM took the unprecedented step of creating a bicentennial edition of the Corvette, producing only one Corvette for each Chevrolet dealer. Soon after the announcement was made, demand for these limited-edition Corvettes exploded. Not having the vehicles in hand, each dealer began selling contracts for these cars. These “futures” contracts sold at huge premiums since there was only a limited number of Corvettes produced. Obviously, GM underestimated demand by limiting supply, and early buyers capitalized on GM’s decision to limit production."Adams' Apple 2007-04-19 20:07:58
