American Warrior Event Rescheduled
As a kickoff to the Memorial Day weekend and the start of the Forum Cruise In, The American Warrior Recognition starts the Thursday activities on May 26. Memorial Day weekend is a significantly appropriate time to thank our military members and recognize their service to the United States and the world.
Volunteers will be asked to caravan from the NCM to either Ft Campbell or Ft Knox, pick up a Wounded Warrior and transport them back to the NCM for a day of tours of the Museum and the Assembly Plant along with a luncheon before returning the warriors to their respective bases. Drivers and their guests along with the warriors with their guests will enjoy a complementary lunch as part of the day’s activities.
View the event agenda online here and sign up to participate either on the Forum registration, or the Wounded Warrior registration!
A second Warrior Recognition event will be planned in conjunction with our Vets 'n Vettes event. |

Corvette Named a "Best Bang for the Buck"
MSN.com recently released a list of the best "Bang for the Buck" sports cars.
"Each year seems to bring fewer affordable sports cars to the market. With standard passenger vehicles becoming incredibly capable in recent years — not to mention current environmental and economic concerns — a purebred performance car can be hard to justify, especially considering the tradeoffs in practicality and versatility. One thing that sports cars are sure to offer, however, is fun and excitement. So with that in mind, we present the following 10 cars, all 2011 models, which in our opinion offer great performance for the price."
Making the cut is the Chevrolet Corvette, being noted as a "living classic." Check out the complete list online here. |

Car Warriors Features Corvettes
A new Speed channel series kicked off this week, featuring Corvettes.
Car Warriors is where the best custom carmakers on the planet – the Challengers Team - face-off in their respective categories and battle the All Star Team in a competition unlike any other. In each and every episode, two of today’s most talented and colorful car builder teams will have one crazy challenge: build an ENTIRE CAR from scratch - in just 72 hours. The program airs Wednesdays at 9pm ET.
The challenger team, Sacramento's Gear Head Garage, felt the C3 build was right in their wheelhouse. They were right. Two 1976 Chevrolet Corvettes, lots of design, fabrication, paint and consternation made this 72-hour build a real eye opener.
If you missed last nights episode, tune in tonight at 9pm, or Sunday at 1pm Eastern Time to catch a replay on the Speed Channel. |

Flint Brick from Original Home of the Corvette
The GM Assembly Plant where the 300 1953 Corvettes were made in Flint, Michigan was razed in 2003. The bricks have been cleaned and the historic pieces of the 1953 Corvette's heritage are now available for enthusiasts to own.
