Corvettes at Carlisle's Lance Miller to Conduct Seminar at Bash

Attendees at this year's Bash event will have the opportunity to hear the story of the restoration of the first Corvette to win at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Lance Miller, son of Carlisle founder Chip Miller, says that the plan is to have the 1960 Cunningham Corvette and one of the drivers, John Fitch, attend the 2010 Le Mans race in June and his seminar is scheduled for Saturday, May 1 at the NCM.

General Motors is also honoring that historic win with the new Corvette Z06 Carbon Limited Edition which will also be at the Bash.

If you haven't yet made your hotel reservations, check out the new specials and deals being offered to event attendees posted on the event registration page!

Wil Cooksey Receives Prestigious Award

Wil Cooksey, former manager of the world’s only Corvette Assembly Plant in Bowling Green, KY and a member of the Board of Directors of the National Corvette Museum will receive the prestigious Lee Iacocca Award August 21, 2010 at the “Cool Cars, Cool Mountains” Car Show in Gunnison, Colorado.  Only 20 car clubs in the United States are designated annually by Mr. Iacocca to select recipients for the award that bears his name.

Mike Callihan, president of the Gunnison Car Club, says the choice of Wil Cooksey for the Iacocca Award was a natural one. “Wil is simply an incredible individual.  Whether in the car business, on the boards of non-profit community organizations or on the race track he never gives less than his all out best.  It doesn’t hurt that he’s a car nut from head to toe, either.” Read more about this award on our blog.

Are you coming to any of our events this year? Have you considered coming in a day or so early, or staying a day or so late?

Is your club planning a group visit to the Museum, or are you passing through during your spring and summer travels?

Why not add an Xperience to your travel agenda? The NCM Xperience program offers owner a unique experience with their Corvette at the Museum. You can schedule a visit to the Museum where your Corvette receives an exterior cleaning and is then displayed on Corvette Boulevard, similar to the highly requested R8C Program. You will also receive a VIP plant tour and Museum tour as part of the program, plus a one-year individual membership to the museum, commemorative plaque, silver decal and individual photograph in front of the Museum.

Read more about this special experience online and make plans to participate in one, or put it on your bucket list!

This week's question was: What's the name of the character in the movie 'Jawbreaker' that drives a red Corvette?

Congratulations to Brandon Eckert of Conneaut Lake, PA, winner of this week's Tuesday Nite Trivia. He correctly identified Vylette aka Fern Mayo (played by Judy Greer). Brandon scored a Corvette switchplate!
