Come Gather With Us Next Week!

May 13-15 the National Corvette Museum's C4/ZR-1 Gathering will bring together one of a kind displays, big names in Corvette and fan favorite activities.

See prototypes that escaped GM’s destruction orders for test vehicles, two 1990 Lingenfelters in the 600 hp range and one of only two Aerobody Lingenfelters in existence. Also making an appearance will be the car that broke the 24-hour World Speed Record in 1990 and the members of the team responsible for this historic achievement, including Tommy Morrison, John Heinricy and Jim Minneker.

2010 Hall of Fame Inductees Jim Ingle and Fred Gallasch will be here, with "Jingles" leading a road tour to Corvette frame manufacturer Metalsa (formerly Dana Corporation) in nearby Hopkinsville.

Read more about the event's activities on our blog! Find the full event agenda online. On-site registration will be available!

Four New Board Members Appointed

The National Corvette Museum Board of Directors elected four new members at its second Quarter Board Meeting. The new members will officially begin their service in January 2011. We look forward to working with them when their tenure begins in January!

Richard's experience and knowledge of racing will be invaluable as we continue to work toward our Motorsports Park project.

Leslie GardnerLeslie Gardner of Redondo Beach, CA has served as a senior manager of Boeing for over 27 years. Leslie is an NCM Lifetime Member and a member of our Duntov Society. She participates in autocross and drag racing, and conducts pro-racing timing and scoring for many major races. Leslie currently serves on two non-profit boards and is a volunteer docent at the Petersen Automotive Museum and her experience in these capacities will be a great addition to the board.

Andy GuinnAndy Guinn, entrepreneur and business owner from Douglassville, TX is President and CEO of Port Aggregates, Inc., a limestone/ready-mix company located throughout southwest Louisiana. Andy is also part owner in a BBQ sauce company. Andy has served on a number of community, business and governmental affairs boards and committees. He has been a Lifetime Member and great supporter of the Museum for 15 years. We look forward to tapping into Andy's entrepreneurial spirit for new Museum endeavors.

Gary MauzyGreg Mauzy of Midland, TX started and currently serves as President of MGM Oil & Gas Company, drilling and operating wells in Texas and New Mexico. Greg has a collection of over 90 muscle cars - old and new with over half his collection being Corvettes, all with original numbers matching classics and many out of GM's private Heritage Museum. Greg is a Lifetime Member of the Museum and has participated in our R8C Delivery program. Greg's love of classic cars is sure to bring about new ideas to the Museum.

This week's question was: What year is the Corvette in the Playstation game Gran Turismo 2?

Congratulations to Tom Merrick of Greenfield, IN. He correctly identified the game as having a 1996 Coupe. Other 'Fans' pointed out that the game actually has 6 Corvettes! A '67, '69, '82, '95 and two '96s. Tom scored two copies of ASC and a dash plaque!
