Greetings:  On January 20,21,22 2012 there is a car show/ swap meet in Allentown, Pa. Go to AutoManiashows.com to get details. Does anyone want to meet there and visit, see the show, and go out for a meal on saturday nite?  Depending on weather and intrest, it may be a good way to begin the new year with friends and cars.  www.automaniashows.com  Enjoy the CHRISTmas season and have SAFE New Year.    M-n-S

It's really just a swap meet. I went once with friends who love going there, but I was not crazy about. If you want to check out old parts & stuff then it's good. I didn't see much Corvette stuff at all. If there is a good response to this I might go just to see the crew.
There is a HUGE indoor flea market across the street also.
Dave

Dave....it's more of a get together of the folks from the area.....this swap meet was a convienient meeting place for the mid-winter get together that was auto related, sort of in the center of the PA, MD, NJ, maybe even NY area....never much going on concerning Corvettes in winter unfortunately. We're open for suggestions if anybody has a better idea.Smile

Swap meets are fun! You don't have to be looking for Corvette specific stuff to go...I find all kinds of neat stuff. I bought my neat-o fender covers at a swap meet, cheaper than ordering them from the vendor, too. Service manuals, owner's manuals, and stuff like that can also be found much cheaper than e-bay, usually. You do normally have to search out the Corvette stuff...lot of folks don't know what it came off of, or what it fits, but if your looking for a specific rim, trim piece, or starter, etc., it's worth going. Beside, ya gets some good walking exercise!
Mama & I hit the Pate swap meet every year(since '97). Pate is one of the largest automotive swap meets in the states, and it's an ALL DAY sucker to walk, even if you don't stop and haggle.
Sounds like a good place to have a mini-Gathering, to me!Thumbs Up

Not unless you have a fully equipped Radio Flyer w/sideboards I ain't!! LOL
And by "fully equipped", I mean with zoomie exhaust pipes, Fuel Injection emblems, racoon tail on the antenna, umbrella rack, cooler, and, of course, the "Student Driver" license plate...you know, the usual swap meet wagon stuff!! Tongue

I got a postcard on this also?? I am supposed to work this weekend but can swap with someone..not sure if I would drive the car but I guess weather will determine that!! Also...going to a swap meet with me with my heavy OCD issues would be fun..I'd be all over the place!! I guess put me in the radio flyer!! Or tie a leash harness on me..Allentown isn't all that far so that would be a good stretch your legs trip....now the real question will be top up or down? Ok..just checked out the website..um..it sucks..but oh well..I guess they have a couple hundred people there to answer the phone..because that's all they have on the site..won't change my mind on going though because the one picture shows some oil cans..maybe get lucky and pick up a few new ones I don't have.

Sounds like a fun time, still to far (5.5 hrs) for a winter hike over the Pa. mountains for my Sled.

Take lots of pictures.

We need to find a bullseye like Binghamton or someplace where we all can reach within a few hours for a big Ho'Down in the winter Hug

Big smile   Hey ELBOW man!  No reason why we cannot set up a couple of destinations and get as many people together as possible. I would come up to BING town and help you gather some folks in that area.  The OAKDALE Mall would be a good spot to meet and eat. Exit 71N I think off 17/87 west.

Man, Binghamton would be way too far for me! Allentown is a streach but doable. I'm jealous, though. Dan and Cathy have it made, it's right in their backyard! But on the plus side, they can scout out a place to eat and such! Sounds like a good time! It'll be great to see everyone and catch up with how much money we're dumping into our cars!   LOL  Probably won't even have the Vette back by then, but probably wouldn't bring it anyway. Weather is too unpredictable this time of year and Vettes are NOT good snow cars! Hope this works!

I won't take the Vette, the parking is in the flea market lot, lots of room but it's like parking at the super market.
I can make a Bing town meet also.

It could be more East Barry....someone needs to look at a 2-3 hour driving range for us and see where that location would be? Must be a program somewhere that we can put in locations and see "Zones".....this sounds like a job for Rich he is into the high tech electronics.....Wink

Al, Wilks Barre PA is about 3 hours from your place, and 3 hours from Barry's place.
Thats the best mid point for you two guys.

That would work and maybe Frank & Barb and even the Rook and Mrs Rook (if he dares) could do a Mid Winter Break

Binghamton, NY in January.  Sounds FUN.  Heck, am now down on the Gulf Coast southwest of Galveston with no plans to join ya'all.  BUT come spring time when the top can drop and I get the house in the Poconos turned on, Binghamton or anywhere in the Northeast would be great.  If'n ya'all need a sunnier, warmer place, I think I know where to find it.  Out on the back deck overlooking the Gulf and Christmas Bay.
