I had put up a C3 Vette Registry banner in the 78s Reunion Winners tent at Carlisle this past weekend (set it up Thursday night).

When I went by there around 1pm Sunday, it was still there. I had actually considered taking it with me at that point, but I thought, no one will take it.

I was wrong! When I returned at 4:30pm it was gone!

I have already checked with Lance and he has checked with the Carlisle ground crew. They do not have it.
I have already checked with the 4 contest winners that were under the 78s tent. They did not take it.

If you are reading this post and have it, please return it to me. I don't care who took it. I just want it back. Send it from a post office that isn't near you if you want to be anonymous about it... doesn't matter, just send it back. The thing cost me $300 and is a piece of C3 Vette Registry history. It was hung at the NCM for 1 year.

C3VR's mailing address is PO Box 202, Eagleville, PA 19408.

If you didn't take it, but may know who did, please PM me!

Thank you.

Adam,

I really hope someone only took this to secure it for you and not intentionally for themselves!! Stern%20Smile Only a @#$%^ would steal it!! If it comes down to it, I will donate to replace it for you!!

This sux AdamAngry. I too hope it turns up. What on earth would someone who's not connected to our site want the banner for.
I agree with Paul. If it needs replace it wouldn't take much of a donation if we all pitch in.

I would have to think if it was taken just so it wouldn't get stolen, the taker would have contacted Adam by now, one way or another....
Seems to be a problem at these larger shows...people see something, and just assume it's theirs for the taking...

Darn, that truly sucks! I really wouldn't think that a member would steal it. One way or another.........things will work out. Keep the faith!

That STINKS!
I'm all for being optimistic a little while longer. Then, if it doesn't turn up we can all pitch in and get a new one (as mentioned before).

I am in on the replacement campaign.

Banner thieves are common, its like a game to them.

I doubt it was a member.

I used to think that anyone who owns a Corvette, or attends events such as Carlisle, would have a little more class and respect. I guess they proved me wrong. I expect something like that at a biker show. No offense to any bikers out there, but you know what I mean. I do have some biker friends and hear from them some things that happen. Anyway, count me in also for getting a new one.

Like JT and others have said, if it was stolen, I highly doubt it was a C3VR member.  And if it was was taken by a member I'm sure they would have said something by now.  I know nothing can replace the original Adam but I'll gladly chip in to replace the lost piece of our history Unhappy

That sucks! I hate thieves,
I will be more than happy to kick in a couple bucks to help replace it.

Adam, did you post this matter on the other vette forums?

I'd bet that the A-hole that took it is NOT a Vette owner and probably not a forum  participant.
Just likes to take souvinours.
Banners like that one are irreplacable.
