I JOINED AT FIRST OUT OF CURIOSITY AT MIDAMERICA. I'M STAYING BECAUSE OF THE VALUABLE INFO AND THE FRIENDLY PEOPLE AND MOST OF ALL THE OTHER REASONS THAT HAS BEEN STATED. AND LASTLY, IT INCREASED MY INTEREST IN THE CAR THAT I HAD ALMOST GROWN BORED WITH. I HAD ALMOST FORGOTTEN HOW MUCH I LOVED IT AND HOW SPECIAL IT WAS UNTIL I WOULD HEAR SOME OF YOU GUYS STORIES. THANKS ADAM FOR CREATING THE SITE.

1a) I became a member when I bought my Corvette and was searching for information on the web. This site had a great format and looked good as a source for information.
1b) I renewed my membership because I found this site freindly and members were willing to help answer my questions for help. I also found the members to be very nice people with a passion for the Corvette.
2) The value I get for being a member is that for the money I believe I can get all the support I would ever need on many topics and corvette news as well.
3) I don't see any other sites that would be better value and the site management is really good. All the members are really nice people with a common interest. This site is the best! Thanks for allowing me to join and I hope to meet the members at some point as I get my Corvette on the road and can join in on some of the road trips and shows.

1a) Why did you become a member? (for NEW paid members)
1b) Why do you continue to be a member (for RENEW or LIFE members)
In 2005 I was in Kuwait supporting airlift with the C17, talking cars one day, a fella told me about a corvette website. Dont remember if it was C3VR or not but when I got home I stumbled across this group, read it for a few days and became a lifetime member.
2) What value(s) do you feel you are getting by being a member?
Hmm, good reading, parts discounts, valuable info at the touch of a keypad.
3) How do you value your membership here compared to similar memberships (paid or not). In other words...what differentiates C3VR from other similar sites?
No griping or complaining. Just the facts. Seems to be alot of comraderie, something I relate to.

1a) Why did you become a member? (for NEW paid members)
Originally to learn something about my first Corvette.
1b) Why do you continue to be a member (for RENEW or LIFE members)
I have found that this forum has been the best place to  share infomration with other Corvette owners regarding restoration and repair of C3s.
2) What value(s) do you feel you are getting by being a member?
First, the excellent technical information. Secondly, the great stories and online sharing of fun details - keeps me entertained.
3) How do you value your membership here compared to similar memberships (paid or not). In other words...what differentiates C3VR from other similar sites?  It is a true C3 site. Most others address all Corvettes and it seems difficult to pull out the C3 info from the discussion on everything else.

Great site, I have enjoyed it now for several years and plan to stay as long as the old red car sits in my driveway.

I became a member when I bought my C3.  I was looking for some information, and a place where I could fit in, enjoy my car, and share the joy of owning the darn thing without being obligated to meetings and outings at fixed schedules that I cannot meet.

I continue to be a member for a couple of reasons.  1. The people.  2. No problems or griping and harping or putting down others that you find everywhere else.  3. The people.   4. Having a source of information that cannot be matched anywhere else.  It's a great resource.  5. The people who share the joy of their cars.  6. The people who feel like family and always help when needed.  7.  The people who become family and are alway there no matter what is needed.

The answer to the last two are included in the second answer.

There is not where else where folks truely care for each other and actually become a family.   The support is amazing.  Not just for the cars.

I could no more stop coming here and talking to other members on the phone than I could give up my car and stop caring about the hobby at all.  I enjoy sharing what I know and helping others.  And I have gotten back more than most will ever realize.   There is no way I can put a value on what this site and people mean to me.

Did I metion the people?

1a) Why did you become a member? (for NEW paid members)
I saw the stand at Carlisle in 2006 about 5 months after I bought my Vette.  I suppose I'm a nerd at heart, and I although I've dereamed of and tried to know more about Corvettes since I was a teenager, I just wanted to learn more about C3 Corvettes.  Better yet, the 90 day free trial seemed too good to pass up.  What did I have to lose?

1b) Why do you continue to be a member (for RENEW or LIFE members)
After being on the site for not even a year, when the prospect of "re-upping" came along and I had the money in the CIP (Corvette Improvement Fund), I figured I'd be better off just making the jump to lifetime since I couldn't see walking away from this site.

2) What value(s) do you feel you are getting by being a member?
Are you kidding me?  Wow.  Where do I start?
Sense of Community - I never thought I would have "internet friends," but I love "chatting" with the folks here.  Posting things that you know will be of interest to others; sharing personal interests (even outside of the C3); the true caring the members show to others; and the fun, gentle "jabs" the more constant members throw at each other.  Always just in fun, and always lots of fun!
Knowledge - Where else could I possibly learn so much about Corvettes and other things!
Pride - you can brag here all you want about "your baby" and everybody "gets it."  It's great to be able to feel that other people can appreciate the same things you do.  Nobody understands like the folks here.
Getting to Actually Meet Real People - I have met a number of the members here in person.  Makes me feel like less of a nerd.  Even so, many of those that I haven't met, I still feel like I know

3) How do you value your membership here compared to similar memberships (paid or not). In other words...what differentiates C3VR from other similar sites?
Can't say.  Like I said, I never pcitured myself doing something like this.  I really do see this as more of a club than anything else.  I have no need to join anywhere else.

1b      I became a member when I stumbled onto this site by accident,( best accident I've ever been envolved in) became a lifer because at the time I had the money to spare, next to the vette and the little lady, best investment I've ever made.

2  Even though I haven't been to any gatherings or met any of you I feel as though I have, to a certain degree, once I get my vette rebuilt I'll definitely take a more physical interest especially on line.
3  The membership pay's for itself because while I haven't started on my vette yet, ( because I'm close to finishing my garage for the vette) this site keeps you envolved wether it's about C3's or daily issue's, no other site offers the knowledge or the family feeling that is within this membership. Thanks to Adam for starting this site and to the moderators and members for keeping it up.
As Tony the tiger always said it's grrrrrrrrrrreat!!!!!Clap  Thumbs%20Up

1b) Why do you continue to be a member (for RENEW or LIFE members)

Great group and excellent advice.  In fact, answers to questions are almost instantaneous.  Do some of you have C3VR beepers????

2) What value(s) do you feel you are getting by being a member?

The knowledge is priceless.  The entertainment is great.

3) How do you value your membership here compared to similar memberships (paid or not). In other words...what differentiates C3VR from other similar sites?

The personal, friendly interaction is unique.  No question is considered "dumb" and no one is ridiculed.  The few times things have gotten a little tense, Adam stops it (which is great)!

1) I belong because I enjoy the time in here, I made lots of pals too
2) I guess the same as 1
3) compared to other sites, we have our experts who are real expirts. Everyone is great in lending a hand, the folks here are great, I've had dinner w/a buncha you guys. Other sites have BLOW HARDS prenting to be experts, Most everyone here actually owns a Vette, not just the T-shirts, lotsa posers in other sites. On my italian club site, the older members were terrific but the 45 and younger crowd were obnoxious. Just not my type of folks.  I like Vette folks MUCH better - LOL..

1a) Why did you become a member? (for NEW paid members)
I joined after I bought my C3.  I had very limited knowledge and experience and felt this site would be able to answer any questions I may have.

1b) Why do you continue to be a member (for RENEW or LIFE members)
I found, in a very short time, how friendly and helpful the members are here.  I attended my first C3VR Gathering in Carson City last year and met some really great people.  I'm planning on going to the Gathering this year also, just to see some old friends and meet new ones.

2) What value(s) do you feel you are getting by being a member?
I feel that not only do I get good, accurate information on my car, but that I'm doing it with some really nice, caring fellow vette lovers.

3) How do you value your membership here compared to similar
memberships (paid or not). In other words...what differentiates C3VR
    from other similar sites?
This is the only site I belong to.  I visit other sites, but they just don't have the feel of family like this one does.   The people make the difference.   They care!!

1. b.   I continue to be a member of C3VR because everybody here plays nice. We can play cars in the sandbox all day and night without yoos guys throwing any sand in my face......mostly !!

2.  If it wasn't fer this place, I probably by now would have sold my 78. After I bought it, in retrospect,  thought the car to be sorta ugly, compared to my beloved, long-gone 65 Stingray.
Now, I find myself pulling out all the crapola and replacing with new stufffff and having a ball doing it. The car will never be an investment so i'm installing my own designs and personality. My very own sunday cruz-r and I owe it all to C3VR.Approve

3.  The difference in this site as to others, imho, is 100% the people. As some of you know I have, in the past, complained about this site being so unfriendly electronic wise with my computer.  I sometimes , in a 2 hr. visit have to deal with being kicked out 3 or 4 times and have to log back in with my username and password.....also I deal with my posts flying off into cyberspace......still, I luv it here and stick around. Hopefully when I get my new computer and if Sprint sees fit to bring DSL to us toothless hicks out here in the bush, I can enjoy what most of you do and maybe become a LIFER......Thumbs%20Up
I didn't mean this to be a rant but only as a tribute to show Adam how I feel about his great site.....As in most things,,,,,,IT'S THE PEOPLE

Adam.......This site will stay great as long as you don't allow too many people in here like me...LOL I'm never sure if I want to belong to something that would have me as a member.....Confused

I think it was Groucho Marx that said "I would never belong to a club that would allow me to be a member."

Of course, he also said "One night when I was in Africa, I shot an elephant in my pajamas. How he got in my pajamas, I'll never know."

Am I old or what?

1a) Why did you become a member? (for NEW paid members)

Since this is my 1st year I will answer this one.
Larry (1badLT1) told me about the site. Said it was the best. He was right.

1b) Why do you continue to be a member (for RENEW or LIFE members)

Havent renewed as I signed up for 2 years but plan on sticking around.

2) What value(s) do you feel you are getting by being a member?

Knowledge. Thats the big one. I have yet to see a question go unanswered. (Well I guess they still havent figured out whether to let men into the womens section or not but other than that). I have learned alot and most of what I learned is NEVER WORK ON MY OWN CAR.
Also someday I plan on doing one of these car trips and meeting the others from my area. That would be cool.

3) How do you value your membership here compared to similar memberships (paid or not). In other words...what differentiates C3VR from other similar sites?
There are other sites? Never felt the need to look for one or go there.
From the time I signed up and Cilah offered to get my car in my sig I have felt welcome. I didnt know didlly about Vettes. Nada. Nothing. Cept I bought one, thats all I knew. No one made me feel less of a member because of it. Heck now I even know they didnt make a Stingray in 68 and 69 was a long production year. See I pay attention.

1a I became a member by referral of a guy I met at a cruise in 2002 when I first bought my Vette. I visited the site a few times as a guest, and LOVED it. I was totally Shark illiterate and every question I posted was replied with a very friendly response. I was hooked and joined as a Gold Member. I do feel I'm here for life, and will probably become lifetime when the fundage comes in.

1b) I check out this site on a daily basis, and can't imagine not being a part of it.

2) Tech information, & friendship. Some members I have had the pleasure of meeting personally, and some I feel I've know even though I haven't. The word Family is used a lot here, and I totally agree. One of the things I really value is when a member has a tragedy or prayer need the response is tremendous. Which leads to question 3.

3) I haven't and probably won't find all of this in any other site. Adam is AWESOME in putting this together and keeping it going. I do check into a local site mostly just to check out upcoming events in our area. I have had the pleasure of cruising with them, but the site doesn't compare.
