So what I am finding is there are times this summer when I leave the top down while its parked for a few days. I put a towel in the widow before I fold er down as to not blemish the plastic, (any more than it is).
But I have to wonder, is it bad to leave the top folded in the car for days? Or even over night?
Any feed back would be interesting.
And how bout someone sitting on the panel that folds over the top? We had er in a parade and someone sat there. Kind of drove me crazy but it seemed like it worked out.

I leave the top down almost all of the time. I considered buying one of those pillows that goes in to protect the window but was told it was a waste of money. I've never had any issues with the window.
I've wondered the same thing about that back "hatch." I'm with Larry - if it doesn't crack, it's ok, but ya gotta wonder, what weight will crack it?
I wanted a Corvette my whole life, but I never dreamed of all the wonderful people I would meet because of it!

I leave the top down on "The Toy" most of the time during the summer also. I have a large towel that I roll up and place it in the fold of the window just for some piece of mind. I do occasionally put the top up and latch it at the window and let the back dangle with the deck up. But when in storage during the winter months it is fully connected so it gets stretched out again. Norsky2007-07-22 19:58:20

My top stays down during the summer. Late fall, winter, and spring I leave it up when in the garage. Not sure if it does any good, but I also put a towel in the fold when the top is down.
Now as far as someone sitting on the top - my rule is thatg only Jessica Alba can sit on the deck lid. There are two reasons for this. 1. Do I really have to say it? She's not ugly... 2. If the lid cracks, she can afford to fix it!
Vette(s): had a really nice one. sold it to a good friend. Purchased 2004 custom coupe in Feb. 2009 did not tell anyone here until August 2009. BAD I KNOW.
try using FLUTZ heard great things about it on the use of it on plastic windows, as far as the top i use the aerospace 303 i think that is what it is called, contact me and we can get together thinkin i have a small bottle in the garage some place.

During the Summer the Tops are DOWN in my 64 72 & 98 Verts, well at least 90 percent of the time as I have been know to drive in the rain and I'm almost bald...
Anyway The major problem with this is that the Vinyl Top itself can get wrinkles...not good for the looks of the car especially if you ocassionally show the darn thing... Solution is to put the top up and use a hair drier to stretch the wrinkles out...
As for the Towel... I have the pillow in one of the cars (who knows which one however ...I normally do not worry about protecting the "glass" BUT then again I only show my car in NON NCRS shows etc and therefore I do not have to show it with the Top UP...

[QUOTE=jt's73] Is there anything to apply to the canvas that helps it stay nice and soft?
How about getting the blemished look out of the window?
My top is in good shape cept for the back window...
I used Rag Top cleaner & sealer on my white top for the 01. It came highly recomended by other vert users. I purchased it at NCM when I was there in June. I suppose it will do a great job if the top ever gets wet..... Tuxblacray2007-08-05 17:54:11
