What is ther part that the Air Cleaner intake flex hose connects to that sits on top of the radiator support called?
Trying to get one but I am having no luck because I can not find out what its called.
Thanks again!
Here ya go my Friend. Front center air intake duct. Look up Paragon Corvette parts. #14423 $65.00 76 and 77. I May have one in my parts bin.
Thanks again!
However, I don't see it on the site..I see the flex hose but no duct?
For the 76 through 81, it was called air intake duct. For the 76 through 79, the part number back in 1980 was 379974. Apparently the 78 L-82 had two ducts. The part numbers were 14016116 and 472713. The 79 through 81 also had the same two part numbers.
Not sure if this will help but at least it's a reference point for the GM part numbers.

Both styles....I think he's looking for the actual plastic ducting..

Yes. Thats it in picture one. The piece that the flex hose connects to on top of radiator support. I've noticed most people do away with that piece and either go without and just change the air cleaner to a open one all the way around. I'm kinda up in the air in which way to go.
Is this what you are looking for?
Yes! Thanks so much!
You can thank DuckDuckGo. 😉

I believe the purpose of the ducting was to allow cold air into the intake which probably contributed to reduced emissions and perhaps a slight increase in horsepower.
