How to determine the year, month and day your C3 Corvette was built
You can determine the date
your C3 Corvette was built by looking at the codes on the "Trim Tag"
on your Vette.
The Trim tag is located on the driver
side "A" pillar, just outside of the dash area. You can see it when
you open the door. It contains info for the build date, interior
trim color codes, and external paint codes.
As shown on the example below:
- Find the "Body Build Date Code"
- The letter is the month and year your C3 was built (use the chart below based on your C3's model year).
- The number is the day of the month your C3 was built.

Then the next two characters are numbers that represent the Month the car was made (see chart below).
After the two chacater month code, there is a letter that represents the week of the month the car was made (A = 1st week, B = second week, etc.
