I want to replace my shocks and also the bushings in the strut rods in my 1975 Corvette. One thing I saw in Corvette Central were adjustable strut rods. Are these better than using the conventional eccentric adjustment?
Does anyone have experience good or bad with the adjustable strut rods?

we put adjustables on the 76... only advantage i can see with them is that it does make adjusting the camber soooo much easier... however, its not like you are under there adjusting very often, if at all once installed and set... basically its just a radius rod(tie rod), loosen the jam nuts and put a wrench on the center flats to turn, adjust to the proper level(i used a digital angle gauge) and tighten the jam nuts back, and done... can't really say anything bad about them... i've been considering them for my 78 when time comes to replace the bushings...

If you do decide to go this route on the strut rods, be sure to get the best ones you can. There have been many instances of some of these failing in use...not a good thing while cruizin down da road at speed...

I'm using 'em...they work great! One word of caution...my experience with eliminating the compliance of bushings coupled with a rear sway bar made handling a little "touchy"...the sway bar ended up in the shed. I think I got mine from VB&P.

Just to play devil's advocate. There is absolutely no need for adjustable strut rods. The factory system has enough adjustability in it. If you cannot adjust enough with the factory set up, something is wrong that needs immediate attention. The adjustable ones are easier than the factory, but you only do it every five years or so, and that is usually at an alignment shop.

I finally got them on, getting the lower shock supports out required someone else to do that for me, the salt in the north has caused a lot of rust.
