I am considering changing my water pump for a High Flow Aluminum Water Pump to improve the cooling of my 1971 Big Block.
What manufacturer do you like best;
EDELBROCK - Victor Series (Part #8852) or
STEWART - Stage 2 (Part #21204) ?
Any other suggestion most welcome.

It seems you are doing the same thing I did to keep her cool in this Florida heat. I feel either pump will do the job but I went with the Stewart Stage 1 pump cast iron. The impellers are the same in both the aluminum and cast iron.Did not see a need for weight reduction, also liked the tech support help. Whenever I called in my decision making I spoke with Jack Wilson at (336) 859-2555. I found him to be very informative.Besides, Stewart has been making these pumps for a long time. I would also recommend a high flow thermostat.Either way you will be happy with a hi flow pump. Just make sure you get the right pump for your Vette..

Nothing wrong with either pump. Just make sure you don't get a water pump with too high a flow rate or you can either get cavitation resulting in hot spots and overheating or the coolant will flow too fast to adequately cool.
I've used an Edelbrock water pump in a big block Mopar and had good results, so I can at least give that one a thumbs up from experience.

I am presently rebuilding the motor in my L82 and am considering going to a highflow waterpump even though it
does not run hot but I figure it can only help any suggestions or comments out there also thanks

read gunslingers comments above...
with all hi performance parts there is a threshold of diminishing returns... and with most hi-performance parts there is a point at which you do more harm than good.
for a street car a street performance hi flow water pump is usually ok... dont get a drag dump...
same thing with items like oil pumps.. a high volume pump is good. some ridiculous drag racing 200 lb/in pump is bad...
so i guess my point is bigger isnt always better..
i would think the general consensus here from reading the countless overheating threads in the last month would be yes... use a hi vol pump... just dont go overboard.

I really think you just got it right. I am definitely with you... not by experience with Corvette parts (yet), just by general experience. Thank you for your advice.
