I bought an 84 vette awhile back that had been wrecked, but not badly. I straightened the a-frame, replaced the hood and bumper and started prepping it for a paint job. Then all of a sudden, it would not start. Everything was dead. I put it on a charger for a few hours and got nothing out of the charge. I figured the battery was old and needed replacing, so I bought a new one. Still nothing. I think it has something to do with the alarm system, but nothing I have tried has awakened the car. How about some step by step help, please!

You have no power to anything? No lights-horn...nothing? That sounds like a fuse-link, or bad connection at the starter for the battery cable. The alarm system might be the problem with it not cranking, but not everything else being dead...
then again, if it was the alarm, then the security light should be flashing on the dash...

Absolutely nothing. I'll check the cable at the starter and get back to you on that. I work away from home (on a drilling rig, currently near Decatur, TX,) so I can't do it today. We'll put this on hold for a couple of weeks, until I can get to the car.

Also make sure the ground(s) are good, from the batt. to the chassis. C4s are worse on grounds than the Shark cars, if that's possible.
