Check out the (banned) Corvette ad that never aired - ("encouraged kids
to steal cars").
Makes me want to pull mine out of the garage RIGHT NOW!

Sorry, the field between the "corvette-commercial" got cut off in the
paste, trying again.

I think what Kalyn is trying to link to is this:

Video + Story: http://www.adrants.com/2004/08/corvette-ad-pulled-because-im beciles.php

Direct Video: http://vette-net.com/movies/ABoysDream-High.mov

I saw nothing wrong with it. When I was taht kids age (not that long ago) I did the same thing, and I would never steal a car..... usually those ppl end of destroying the car (I want to kick them in the nadsors) Whose liberal choice was this to pullt he VEtte commercial off the air?  I want to kick them in the nadsors

Sorry, I don't mean to spam up the site, It works when I copy it to my
browser but not from this forum, it spaces the letters when I try to paste
it on this post. It's well worth watching if someone can figure how to
space the letters tight and post it for me. Sorry, I'll give up on posting
links.

I had actually seen this comercial air, though I dont remember what I was watching at the time I do remember the commercial.  Its being pulled is just the result of the ridiculousness of implied liability.  Its just another effect of the many lawsuits that have awarded large settlements for stupidity.  (Oh Im sorry I didnt realize the hot cofee I ordered was going to be hot)  When is society going to start placing any amount of responsibility on the individual?  And what happened to common sense.  So many civil suits are seen as a way to get rich quick.  Why not force the personal injury lawyers that advertise to get you the money you deserve to pull their commercials because it encourages lawsuits for any sort of injury.  Sorry for the rant but Im out.

I caught it on TV before it got pulled. I never understood why they really pulled it either.

aw hell, i used to steal my dads 77 monte carlo when i was 13- i
never had a problem!

i think i remember that on tv too! that was a great ad! might have
been during the superbowl or some other big sport event! You
have to admit, as much as its funny, its easy to see why
everyone was up in arms over that one!stevep31638461.5783796296

Vette(s): 1975 C3 Red, T-Tops, Black Interior. All I need is time and money! Getting there!

I think the commercial is rather cute.  It says it dreams.  Some people have no sense of humor.

I once used my Dad's 68 Rebel wagon when I was the only one home and, well, grounded.  I was 17.

I got to where I was going, and made it part way back.  The alternator quit and the battery went dead, then the car quit.  Not wanting to get busted, I pushed that beast 8 BLOCKS to get it home and back in front of the house were it was.  Yep, by myself.  Actually some friends spotted me and helped push it the last 200 feet.  Not much help.

The next morning Dad knew the battery was dead, and we found the alternator went bad.  We fixed the car.  He never knew.   Granted that was the biggest workout I had in a long time.  A 68 Rebel wagon is NOT light. I was wore out!

I thought it was a great commercial and see nothing wrong with it. I'd venture to say that most of us grew up with that dream. Heck, until four years ago, I was still dreaming!
