[QUOTE=steves74]My favorite C3 so far was the 78 pace car with only 117 original miles.

from what i understood it had under a hundred miles on it and the guy never drove it. had the dealer do no prep work on it thats why the plastic and paper were still in it. sold for 40,000. wife knew i would have mortgaged the house if i was there and got it that cheap.
Lot #711. Think it went for $38K. Someone
correct me on this price if I am wrong. Still had the plastic on
the seats and paper on the floors. Seemed like a good buy to me??
Also interesting, coming up is a pair (2) 63 split
windows, that will only be sold together as a pair. Not sure
when??

What was up with the auctioneers last nite? They really screwed
up several times and pissed a few people off by appearing to change the
top bidder.
They usually don't have as much trouble as they did last nite from what I've seen.
I was glad to see the mid-years are still in my price range...if I win the stinkin' lottery!!!

They are going up today. Referred to as the twin "Tankers" because they had the large fuel tank for road racing. I believe.... there was an article in Corvette enthusiast about them.. also got the last '67 going up...
By the way.. is it my imagination, or does it seems the prices are a bit lower than the last years auction?
Lot's of vets at this one tho...

Vette(s): Silver 1974 Convertible - L82 4 speed
Low miles (was only 8,900 when I bought it in March 2006) - Now 54K miles. Original owner bought it as an investment for son's college expenses.
2008 Jetstream Blue Convertible
Last Stingray - SOLD - $600,000! I actually thought it would go much higher!
I wanted a Corvette my whole life, but I never dreamed of all the wonderful people I would meet because of it!

Vette(s): 1972 conv., sunfire yellow, blk interior, blk vinyl and convertible top. Off frame restoration with American Speed 383 stroker engine producing 500hp plus a 200hp NOS system. MSD ignition. Hooker super competition headers with chambered exhaust.
Why pay over $600,000 for a Sting Ray when you can buy a 1993 Hummer for $1,000,000?

i agree. thought with it being the last 67 made it would go for at least a million but then again as 2 cruzn said seems like the prices are on the low side. of course i wish i had 600,000 to buy a car

I agree with the price being low on the "last" String Ray. Rumor has it
that ProTeam had over 500,000 dollars in the initial buy and
restoration. I really thought that it would pass the million mark.

Terry Michelis paid $229,000 for the car before the restoration. From an article I read some time ago, they were expecting the car to go for around $2,000,000.
