I will make my offer tomorrow at noon. Seven other people have expressed interest. I will probably not get this one because I am not going over 21K. The other perspective buyers are not Vette guys. I have spoken to them. In their minds this is probably a 45K car. They did not even know what trailing arms were. They did not know what "matching numbers" meant. This will work against me. One had mentioned that he went to the NADA site and the car had a high retail value of 99K. He figures he can snatch it for 40K, invest an additional 15K, and still make a boat load of money. We'll see what happens tomorrow.

I would not pay $20K for a non-original '66, but then, I'm not looking for a C2.  What's the seller asking?

Well, the bids were opened and the car sold for $24,500. I went up to 21K. This, by the way, was a Court ordered bankruptcy sale.I am happy with my decision. Thanks to all that provided guidance and opinions. My search continues.

Hey Scott,
Too bad that did'nt work out. Good that you did'nt get sucked in to paying too much.
