What's the problem with the window?

If it's more like a "click-click-click-click", the ribbon is broken.
That's gonna require the removal of the entire regulator assy to replace the ribbon, plus the ribbon itself. It's pretty involved, time-wise, but not an impossible task.
The windows on the early C4s use a nylon ribbon (that looks more like a zipper) to run the glass up/down. The ribbon runs thru the window motor gear, and that eventually causes the nylon ribbon to strip, or break. The replacement ribbons are much better made.
Later C4s have regular window regulators.
HERE'S a link to the part, and notice right under the part # and order info is a PDF file on how to change it out.(Tech instructions)
Hope this helps...

Thanks for the info I am not sure the type of sound but we are getting together at 1000 to work on it. I have not heard it myself but the pictures and tech info will help.
The C4 is an '85 and the window (driver's) was working fine, it is in the down position and when the switch is used up or down you can hear a slight click, not a click, click, click. We will be checking it out as soon as the rain stops so we can drive it to Bob's shop. Thanks!

Kewl!
Use a small, rubber mallet, and with the switch pushed to the "Up" position, give the door a couple of light "love taps", and see if it will free it up. Sometimes the motors just get "stuck", either from gunk, or an electrical issue, and most of the time, a little friendly persuasion from a mallet will get is running again. If it don't, then it's time for some recon action....
