Vette(s): Used to own a 1979 Corvette now owned by JB79
If I were to organize a raffle to win 2003 Vette to benefit a charity, would you be interested at $50 or $100 per ticket (or not at all)?
Thanks!
Thanks!

I've given this some more thought, and I think I'd actually want to do a raffle for a C3. Being that my club is all about C3s, it would seem kinda inappropriate to raffle a C5.
So, now I'm wondering if people would pay $50 for 1 of 1000 tickets for 1978 Pace Car or a 1982 CE. Of course, the car would have to have very low mileage and be in great condition!
So, what is your oppinion on that?

Adam,
Before you make any comittments to this idea, PLEASE spend some time with a tax man...oopppps sorry, a GOOD tax man. We have raffled off a new Vette every year for around 28 or 29 years and trust me, there are tax considerations a-plenty. We have a large portion of our 60 person club selling tickets for 11 1/2 months a year plus thousands of fliers we send out by mail and place at every cruise or show we attend and some years we are selling the tickets at a reduced price at our X-mas ball just to get rid of the last few tickets.
Charity work is always a good thing, just be VERY carefull you have each and every one of your ducks lined up in a nice straight "bullet proof" line.
And the answer is , YES I would buy a ticket but unfortunately after going through this year after year, NO I won't help sell them cause I have enough trouble selling them for my club for a new Vette at the same $60.00 per ticket for 1000 tickets.
I'm sorry that I sound negative but I do wish you luck with this if you do it. It is a lot of work and up front dollars but I am SURE you will make some charity very happy with a 40 or 45 thousand dollar donation.
