Adam,
I went to the C6 Forum and read your post where you were considering to take it down. I assume it has not progressed along in the same path as that of C3VR. Shame...
I suggest the before you do this that you might consider opening it up to C5 & C6 vettes. There are several of us within the Shark Tank who own C5's and may enjoy the comfort of a larger domain. I know I frequent 2 other forums with the sole intent of researching the C5 and hunting the 4 sale items. I also know the other C5 owners here some of who I have spoke with would enjoy that!
At some point if the crowd got too large they could then be split.
It was also quick to recognize that you have a faithful following developing in the C6 Forum however small that may be.
It appears as though if you allowed more guest privledges as you have done in the Shark Tank you may develop sooner as well. (I wanted to place this in the C6 Forum however didn't have the ability as a guest).
Just my .02 while Thinking Outside The Tank.
TUX...

Hey.......that's a good idea, TUX!
I have a C5 (Otis) and I'm looking for info on them also. I truely believe more folks would join in if the C5's were included and they had more privledges.

I wonder if some of the members here that have C5's would be interested? Don't know all the ones that have C5's here also.

Joel,
I tend to agree with you but we all don't think in those terms.I believe adams original goal was to develop someting specific by model. Typically unless the enthusiast has the passion they tend to stay with their respective models (too bad..)
I was merely trying to help Adam out by offering some alternative ideas for his "other" forum.
If we could help him with that then I would like to see some of our gatherings pulled together more frequently as shared group gatherings.
As I had said earlier I have been spending quite a bit of time in other aquariums (fish tanks) locating accessories for the C5. Tux doesn't require much anymore so there isn't much of a need to hunt in the C3 tanks.
I certainly don't want to take anything away from this site. It has been absolutely great and to that I say thanks to all...

To the best of my knowledge C6VR is a free site so there is no need to log in as a Guest. Just sign up and you'll have access to the whole site.
Limiting it to C6 only was done because there is already such a gaggle of C5 sites out there - just trying to be different was all.
And if you don't remember what the forums looked like here at C3VR "in the old days", C6VR is still using the original forumware...!!! A different color scheme is the only real difference.

Jim,
Have you ever looked at the member listed and wondered what happened to all of those folks? If you sign in as a guest you won't have that. Therefore I would think from a maintenance standpoint it would be better. Assuming that at some point to free up space some of those "members" with none or little activity are deleted.
My reason for posting this was to help out those current C6 members who feel about their site as we feel about our C3VR Family.
I would hate to see them disbanded if there was any way to prevent that. SOOO, as a realative of the group I was trying to develop some alternate means by raising some interest in the site.
I agree with your comment of there being a "gagle" (I like that term) of other sites for C5's. But in actuality only a couple of them are currently very strong. Your comments make sense to me as to why Adam would choose to make this a site for the C6 to get a jump on others.
I wasn't a original member of the C3VR family but I believe I utilized some of the 1st software. I Like the Torch Red font it's Hot!
Bottom line is if our group can help to support the C6VR family it would be great. Much like I would hope that in turn they would help us if need be. Who Knows that may spark some joint Gatherings (Woo-Hoo more events).
After all each of us share that common bond that derived from that one eventful day in 1953.

I joined the C6VR site last nite!
It appears to be not doing very well at this time.
There have been only a couple of new posts in th last couple of days...I posted 4 of them myself.
Seems like most of the folks there believe they spend more time driving their cars, instead of sitting in front of a 'puter screen. What does that say about US?!(Me , more specifically!
)
There is some really cool stuff over der...very informative, if you're curious about the C6, or maybe contemplating a purchase in the future.
I see quite a few C3VR members there, also! I don't know why that forum hasn't caught on like this one did...it just don't make sense. I will continue to visit there, and see what new stuff I can find, for my own purpose. It never hurts to know a wee bit more.
Don't know iffin them folks will appreciate my sense of humor, tho...I'll try to keep it simple!

So's ya don't get lonely I'm in wif ya... I added a couple of thangs too. Lets see whar it goes from thar...

I think basically that as much as I hate to say it, a large number of the C6 owners are not car guys. They have the money to buy one and because a friend or relation bought one or knows someone that did they go out and get one. There are still a large amount of people like us that love the Vette for what it is and will always be car guys. Most of the C6 tech data and so on will not be needed as they are all taking them to their dealers still to get them worked on. I would wager 9 out of 10 of the C6 guys don't even change their own oil.

The C3 is a different breed of Corvette and it takes a special person to own and work on them. We are all hands on guys and gals.
This probably isn't worded the best it could be , but you get the idea of what I am trying to say.
If I had a C6, I would seek out the C6VR in a second, but most will not and its sad to say I think most of the C6 gang still call it just a car. They have a fast car but ask one of them to tell you where a specific part on it is and they will not have a clue and then you get the reply "if it breaks I will take it to the dealer "
When GM started putting all the fancies on the Corvette and marketing it to the "yuppie crowd" instead of the gearheads I knew then we were in trouble. As time goes on the C6 will do as the C5 has. It will trickle back to the true Corvette Enthusiasts as the people that had the C6 s will be driving C7s. Just my.02 and I know this is just a bunch of rambling and I would love to be proven wrong but my Corvette does not have room for golf clubs and it doesn't have drinkholders, Its a real Corvette to me and not a compromise.
I Love C3s!
