The guy that send that C-4 to it's death puts a new meaning to ASS#@$.He could have sold that car for more that $4500 they gave him for it,and a part of Americana would still be with us.Sad real sad.

Rick it's not only corvettes that this stuff happened to, there are a lot of fine vehehicals that went to junk because of the bone heads in washington that didn't think out the program before launching it. I saw plenty of vehicals that could of been given to families that didn't have the money to even own a car or sold at auction to benifit families that are in need Bill

I didnt know Obama had a C-4.

I agree some of the cars I saw on the dealer lot are really nice, and could be donated to the needy. But again this is our goverment looking out for big bussisness and not the adverage person.I read in the paper even the scrape yard has a dead line that they have to meet to crush the cars.

Way too liberal an idea to give needy folks cars.
Besides how could they afford gas and insurance if they cant even afford a car?
I thought this was America and we could do with cars as we wish?
If I want to fill the C-3 with dirt and plant flowers I can.

We did a cash-for-clunkers, with a '96 Aerostar w/210K miles (no radio, sold the tires on Craig's List) for a Colorado 4cyl 5speed 4WD that gets 5mpg better than the Aerostar. The dealers ALWAYS have the option of giving the same money as clunkers did, and running 'em thru the auction. I agree w/T-Mans...there's still plenty of buy here, pay here, fix here places with cars to sell..it's just there aren't as many V-8's as before. The program was well thought out and did what it was supposed to do; limit our dependance on foreign oil (remember??). I'm certainly not big business, and consider our family "average" in most respects (except for the 'Vettes we own). Don't blame the government for some jerk that wouldn't keep a nice car.
