Vette(s): 1975 C3 Red, T-Tops, Black Interior. All I need is time and money! Getting there!
At that price I'm guessing it's on the 07?

Dampers can cause a LOT of problems up to and including damage to the crankshaft and bearings.  The one on my C3 was bad when I got it and was brushing the timing cover.  Oddly not enough to make noise, just enough to polish the paint.  I found it when I went to set the timing, and the marks were not where they were supposed to be LOL.

Glad it fixed your problem.  Thumbs Up

The balancer is a pres fit...no bolt to hold it on, and also no keyway, which is why it is important to have it installed properly. The engine timing is not mechanically adjustable, so no need for timing marks. The LS series of the Chevy engine is a full departure from what we're used to seeing from previous small blocks.....lots of differences between the two designs. Glad you got it handled, anyway! Thumbs Up

I put a Fluid Damper on my LS engine, plus I have the fixture, drill bit and steel rod to pin the damper to the crank. This way the damper will never spin on the crank. This is very important if you put a supercharger on a LS engine.
