if anyone can help, i need some ideas on what to check. i have finally gotten my 90 in good running order except for one thing that i dont know what to check next.
after cruising down a highway, my ses light comes on and it is a code 32, which is the egr system. i have removed the intake as from some testing it appeared it might be clogged. it was clean but it appears to have been off by a PO. i installed a new egr valve and different solenoid and still does it.
just a little history here. the original throttle body was clogged to the max and cleeaned it out with no change. i finally bought a new one and it made a big difference in the way the car idled and responded but it still keeps throwing a code 32.
is there some other part i should check as i have come to find out with these computer systems that other switches that are bad can affect something that one might think had nothing to do with it.
any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.

thanks larry for your response. done just about all of that too but also pulled the intake and had replaced the ecm. i guess one day i will figure it out. it is one of those things that just bugs the crap out of me.

Eddie...does the '90 have the EGR temp sensor? I don't remember if it do or not. If it does, that sensor has caused more EGR codes than anything else...
I'll check some other stuff tomorrow, and see if I can come up with anything else.
Does the light come on and stay on, or will it go off if you keep driving?

it doesn't have the temp sesor on it. when i am going down the highway about 60 or so it will pop on. it stays on until i shut off the car. when i restart its off. in most cases i can drive around at speeds under 50 and it wont come on. something just happened to come in my mind. i wonder if it is possible if it is not closing fast enough? the car also runs great with or without the code showing. thanks.

Dangit...
I printed off 6-7 pages of info on it....and left it at the shop!
I think you do have the factory service manual, tho, don't you? What I have will be the same info as what is in the service man.
I'll e-mail ya what I have tomorrow eve., anyway.
