Vette(s): 1975 Corvette Convertible I am second owner of the car. It has 52,000 original miles on it.I am in the process of painting it. I see why they want so much for a paint job! Hope it comes out good! This is my first fiberglass paint job. Prep and more Prep!
Years ago my brother bought some NOS parts for a 1966 Corvette, at a garage sale. One of the items was a factory radio with an 8 track built in it. Did Corvettes ever come with that option? How can you tell what the radio came out of? This radio looks brand new and considering everthing else was NOS I have to reason to beleive other wise. If Corvette did offer it, is it a rare item? How much is it worth?

Thanks in advance for reply

I checked the Black Book, and found from 1977 thru 1982 it was a option. 1977 aprox 25,000 units; 1978 21,000 units; 1979 20,000 units; 1980 almost 15,000 units; 1981 amd 1982 had the ETR 8 track, sounds like a different model than the regular 8 track.

Not very rare, but I'm sure there still work at least 200.00, to some one that is looking. I did some checking on gettinga 1969 AM-FM original radio for mine, about 200.00, for a working unit, no gaurentee though.

Thanks,

Dave

Hope you have better luck than me, I had a pretty nice am/fm/8-trk from a 71 Eldorado that I sold on Ebay last week and it never got past the opening bid of $25. Radio part worked fine. I had no tape to test, but it was clean inside.

You should know better than that my friend any time you put corvette in front of something it will always cost more that is especially true in the used parts market |thumb|

Well, I have bought such a radio with 8-track 4 years ago. It wasn't working at all and I had to pay 160 dollar for it. For me it was worth it, however it is very expensive. But it was the last part for my '80 Corvette to bring it back to original....

My 75 has an AM/FM 8 track. With the car disassembled I don't know it it works yet. I actually have some 8 track tapes I got a a gag gift last Christmas. And some of them I like! Come on warm weather!
