I'm trying to find out some of the history of my 70 vette.
Are there any web sites out there where i can use my vin number to find out about the history and past owners of my car

just saw your post did you ever find a site to trace owner I would like to contact my cars previous owner also

All the 'right to privacy' laws that states are enacting are making it difficult to trace the history on undocumented cars. When a seller says they have the history, ask to see it before getting serious about completing the deal. The fellow I bought "The Toy" from said he had it, but had forgotten to bring it with to the airport and said he'd mail it to me. I've been bugging him on and off for three+ years now and still haven't seen it so I'm guessing it never existed.

I'm also clueless on my history. I have no idea if I'm owner #2 or #25. My odometer reads 25,000 miles. I am 90% sure it's really 125,000 but I can't prove it's not 225,000 or hell even 325,000 could be possible. The mystery of it all is what generates some of the FUN!

Unfortunatly there is no where you can type your vin and get past owners.
I did some research with prior titles and found the owner that was 3 people back from me and got some insite to the guy who owned it before him but im at a dead end there because the guy who had it before him died and his sister sold the car so im sure I have some parts that were just thrown away

One thing you can do is try to get some info from your dmv or the state you bought the car from, some will do this some will not I hear kalifornia is a a real pain and basically you wont get any info...
