Topic: Fixed Roof Coupes
in Forum: All Vettes Discussion
While I was at the shop with my work car the other day a guy came in with his wife's 1999 Corvette. Beautiful car of course. He said if he was in the market now for a C5, he would go for a Fixed Roof Coupe. I had never heard of one before and so looking for pics I found this one. If my wife would let me this is what she would get to replace her aging 2001 Camry.

The hardtop body DID make the car stiffer, which helps. It also is what made the C5 ZO6 possible.

I happen to prefer the looks of the hardtop more than any other body style of the C5s.

I guess in review it is nice to have basically 4 versions of the C5 to choose from when it comes down to it. The FRC, standard coupe, roadster, and the Z06.
All are nice cars in their own category and all would look fine sitting in your garage or driveway next to your C3..... Kinda like this scene!

I bought my 2000 FRC 4 years ago and love it. As Joel said is was just under $600 cheaper than the coupe. BUT, it came standard with the 3:42 performance rear end, the Z51 handling package and the MN6 (6-speed). Mine has a few other options, including HUD. There were only 2090 FRCs made in 2000, and over 4000 in 1999.

Click on SEARCH THIS FORUM and then type in FRC into the drop down box.
Once this comes up if you look towards the center of the page there is a drop down box with the word relevance in it.
Click on the down arrow and chose post date.
From there you can take your pick Black white.....even RED (man that last one was hard to say).
Good luck on your search!
