I thought this was pretty neat. Shame I won't be able to go see it
NEW YORK, May 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Lord & Taylor will unveil Corvette's 50th Anniversary Edition model on Wednesday, May 22. The ultimate fashion accessory, the 2003 Corvette will be seen first in the store's Fifth Avenue windows, a week before it is seen again at the Indianapolis 500 race.
Along with the 2003 model, Lord & Taylor will also feature Vintage cars from 1955, 1966 and 1978 as well as blow ups of photos of Corvettes, with human-interest stories featuring the cars of various private owners.
The installation of the windows will begin on the evening of Tuesday, May 21. The plate glass will have to be removed and the cars driven unto the sites one by one. This will take several hours and the project will not be completed until sunrise the next day. The windows will be up until Tuesday, June 18th.
Until Father's Day, June 16, customers will be able to visit a Corvette outpost in all our stores and select from a collection of 50th Anniversary commemorative merchandise, including ties designed by Nicole Miller. They will also be able to purchase a Lord & Taylor Special Edition Gift Card featuring a 1953 Corvette and register-to-win a two-day all-expenses-paid trip for two to the Justin Bell GT Driving School in Boca Raton, Florida, plus additional prizes. On June 13, New York customers will have the opportunity to have their picture taken in a Corvette."

I think the "ultimate fashion accessory" that they mention should be a C3 body neatly mounted on the frame. I bet Lord and Taylor could EASILY afford to do that

Hey dukman.................how you know about this???????
The owner of the 1966 is Sergio of VetteWorks in Queens NY. A good friend. I did a poster for him that my be on display with the car, and I also created the flyers. He has asked me to take pictures for him, and "Corvette Fever" my do an article on the event. They may use some of my pictures. We are all gathering at his house on Tuesday night, the GM truck is coming that night for the car, and we are going to have like a small caravan to the city. We are going to have lots of fun. I will email you some of the pictures.
Will keep you posted.

Cool that you are involved with such a big event, but Lord and Taylor??? Soon there will also be a Neiman Marcus Edition, a Tiffany's Edition, Givincci, Polo and Old Navy Editions. Sheesh, is this the 70's at Lincoln-Mercury? I guess when Chevy can't come up with a better 50th anniversary model than adding a few badges, everyone else will make their own special editions, too. Hopefully Bob Lutz will get it thru Chevy leaders' heads that a car company sells PRODUCT, not fashion accessories. Joe

Ray - that's just awesome! I can't wait to see what the fashion industry does with a Corvette! This ought to be radical!
