Low miles (was only 8,900 when I bought it in March 2006) - Now 54K miles. Original owner bought it as an investment for son's college expenses.

My boss actually tuned me in to this - I had not heard about it.
The Historic Motorama II tour is taking a Corvette from every year (although I don't see one listed for 1955) from the NCM to Detriot for GM's 100th anniversary celebration.
Tomorrow (Thursday, September 11th - how appropriate), the tour is making a stop in Plainfield, IN (the warehouse capital of IN) at Griot's Garage distribution center. We have buildings just around the corner from their location (I didn't even know they were out there), so I plan on taking a long lunch and taking my camera.
The stop is scheduled from 12:30 to either 2:30 or 3:00, depending on which source you believe.
Here are some details on different web sites. I hope some of you can make it to either this stop or others. I did not recognize any C3VR names in the owners' list.
I wanted a Corvette my whole life, but I never dreamed of all the wonderful people I would meet because of it!

Very cool! Hopefully you'll have good weather and get some great pics. Good luck.

I recognized several names on the list of participants....fellow NCRS members.
And one of them, James Youens, with the Metallic Yellow '73 Convertible, I've had the pleasure of Judging at one of the NCRS meets!
Hope you get some sweet pics, Marshall!

Twas a great couple hours spent taking in all of the tour participant Vettes and spectator rides at Griot's this afternoon. My favorite was the 1957, scratch that, the 1953, or maybe the '78 pace car if I can be just a tad biased on that one. But I will say that many Vette enthusiats snapped to attention when this robins egg blue '57 Thunderbird parked along the street. The ride sure looked like a fun time. Great cars, nice folks and a nice day even with afew drops of rain later on. Thanks to Griot's Garage for hosting the stop.

I was surprised at all of the folks there. It was hard to get good pix, but I did snap a few.
Like Gary, I may have been a little biased, and spent most of my time (I was actually on my lunch hour and couldn't stay much longer, as it's been a busy week) talking with the owner of the very original 1974 Convertible L82 4-Speed with Air... Hmmm, that sounds somewhat familiar... He got Survivor judged a few years back, and I've been wanting to for some time. After talking to him, I think I'm going to go sign up for next year in the next few days.
Gary, sorry I didn't see you there, but I did see fellow C3VR member Marion (Eurodesk), along with his new '99 Silver Convertible. You're right though, the 53 and the 57 were both very nice.
I also got a neat treat as I was driving home. I'm not sure where the cars left after going to Plainfield, but I saw almost every one traveling the opposite direction on the interstate as I went home. It was quite a sight.

When I left about 2:30 or so, they were meeting with teams to discuss a route change. Rumor had it that they were going to go over to the Skillman collection in Greenwood.
Great afternoon with a great collection of Corvette history. I talked alittle bit with the gentleman from Boise, Idaho with the green 1997. One of small number with that color. I'd never seen that color before.
I need to get a C3VR hat/shirt to wear to events such as this.
Take care, GaryC, '78PC, Franklin, IN
