Vette(s): 78 coupe, Dk Brown, ZZ4 385 hp fast burn, steeroid rack/pinion, Keisler 5 speed. Built to run with C5 and C6. on the highway. Can't beat them. But they can't lose me in there mirrors. LOL I built it to enjoy. So far I've tripped through 15 States.
Now my A/C is cold.
Took her out today a drove around town. In traffic, red lights and all. With the A/C on max. And the windows up.
After all these years messing with everything. And the best I got was cool and humid air.
All the time it was the water shut off switch behind the clove box. If anyone with a 78 vette with this problem. Check and make sure the HOT/COLD cable is pressing on the water shutoff switch. Now I have the A/C fixed, I can't afford the gas to enjoy it.

COOL!!!

You mentioned the water shutoff switch behind the glove box. Is that responsible for cutting off coolant from passing through the heater core?
I'm glad it worked out for you.

I really don't know. I followed the line out to through the fire wall and over to the A/C and the vacuum line went to this diaphragm on a heater hose. What I found out is this type shutoff switch is only on 78 and 79. There is other shutoff switches for other model years but I don't know where they are hidden.. My A/C kick a$$ now in the low 50* at 2 PM in South Florida Sun.
