The last couple of mornings, when trying to start, the starter would click hard one time and then nothing. I'd wait a couple of minutes and she'd crank. Now this.
I pulled the starter last night and guess I'll replace it. It still seems odd for the starter to do this though. I didn't notice any wires touching or shorted when pulling it, and there are no bad marks on the teeth of the starter gear.
No other work has been done to it since spring when I upgraded the opti.

Yeah..the one loud "click" was the bendix engaging...but not releasing. Sounds like the solenoid itself is doo-doo...
Not really an "odd" occurrence...not exactly common, either, but it does happen more than you might think...just not on your car!
I've had customers drive their cars to the shop with the starter still engaged! "It's making a funny noise..." Adams' Apple2008-01-29 21:04:56

Smile I'm a happy camper now. The problem was the bendix, just like you thought Joel. Got her all back together and "all is well in my garage now".
Well, almost. I have one minor problem with my c3. But that's for a different area of the forum. Well, maybe two problems, but hey, it's pushing thirty and I can relate to the wear and tear.
