Vette(s): 1982 C3 Collectors Edition 44000 miles, sat in the sun most of its life, My wife purchased it for me for Father's Day in 2007 from her girlfriend that had it for 19 years. It is on the road again. I'm retired but it is now my daily driver.
Nice posts How fast did they allow you to go. I noticed you would have liked to go faster.
Awesome vid Clint. Love that sound!!!

Gilbert - my top speed was 158 with the windows open following a Callaway that reached 166 on the same run. If the windows were closed I think I would have broken 160. My goal for the day was 150 and I exceeded that during two runs multiple times.

We exited turn 2 in excess of 125 - 130 to achieve that at the end of the backstretch. We were essentially limited by the speed of the car in front of us and the pace car which did 80 - 90. We coasted at about 50 until the cars in front of us exited turn 2 before we hit it going into turn 1.
T - thanks - the sound was phenominal and the track grip outstanding.
Dennis - the video simply does not do the experience justice ... have to be there to really experience the 35 degree banking.
Perhaps an opportunity for C3VR to participate next year ?

Ah......the memories!!! Thanks for the ride along(sorta), Clint!
"You have to actually steer to the right in the turns..."
Well..yeah....if yer only doing 50mph!!
Those turns are designed for cars doin over 160mph. At a certain speed, around Talladega, you don't have to steer AT ALL...it's like the car is just goin straight....no steering input needed. The g-force and the laws of physics do the job for ya. It's a really need feeling.
They should'a let ya'll do some passin.
That sucked, but you had a blast, and that's what counts!! Thanks for sharing!

Obviously that guy in front of you did not read the posted signs "Slower traffic keep right". Too bad you couldn't have had an EBO on your dash, that alone would have allowed you to pick up 2-3 mph!
Warning: The surgeon general has declared that it is NOT unhealthy to smoke your competition AND I just discovered that my corvette is a hybred. It burns gas and rubber!
