So this is not but sorta kinda relatedd to C3.  Looking at new tires for my 92 before my trip to the c3 gathering.  Not sure which ones to put on, a few that I have looked at seem to all have same review which is road noise.  I would like to get away from that if i can, whats out there and what kinda prices am i looking at, so i can compare them to prices up here.

On my '85, the original Goodyears made the most noise. From those I went to Michelin, which were quiet, but dint wear very well....they dint last very long. I have a set of Kumhos on it now that are quiet, and seem to handle as well as the others....maybe a bit stiffer, tho. The Kumhos were a little over $800 when I got them.

Remember that these tires are directional(left/right) by design, and if you have the wider rear rims, you're looking at buying 4 different tires. I had a brain fart when I bought the Kumhos, and dint get the wider rear tires for the wider rims...DOH! Embarrassed

I have never heard of the kuhmos or what ever you called them.  I'm assuming they were 800 for the four or are you talking each

Pete (PJK82CE) has had good luck with the Continental brand on his C5s.  He raves about their silent ride and comfort.

The Goodyear F1s that I put on "The Beast" were great handling tires, dry and wet, but they were a touch on the noisy side.  Not bad, but you knew they were there.  When the car was sold last March we had put about 30,000 miles on them, which is pretty good for a high performance tire on a high performance car.  There was probably another road trip or two of life left in them before I'd worry about any loss of traction.

Falken tires have a pretty good following.

Check out Tire Rack (www.tirerack.com) for specs and reviews/ratings of tires.
