I'm a relative new member and recently read a thread about classic car insurance and the ones to check out. My question is: Has anyone had a claim for damages and did the company come through as promised? I have a '79 and '95 that are currently insured with a regular insurance company. I don't want to drop them and take a chance with an unknown company.
Thanks

Hi, Ron, I use Hagerty. Thankfully, I have never had a claim. I have heard from the person I bought my car from (he is a dealer) that Hagerty is very good with claims.

I am going to call an agent I was recommended to in the north west Ohio area on the insurance. I will you all know what i find out.
Hi Ron!
My 78 Pace is insured with State Farm. The car falls in a separte catagory for antique and classic cars so the insurance is very inexpensive approx $200 a year for total coverage $500 deductable. My car was in my shop durring hurricane Georges and a tornado hit the shop, it took off the roof , dumped in a lot of water and threw items around in the shop. After the storm I notified my agent He asked me where I wanted it fixed, I took it to a corvette restorer I knew (licensed shop) They replaced all the interior/new windows/complete paint my cost $500 dollars. The vet is in great shape I'm still doing shop repair.

Thanks to all the replies to my insurance question. I will check out several of them and make a decision. I don't drive to work any more, so that won't be a problem. I do plan on driving the '79 and '95 more often, but only for pleasure or occasional shopping.
Thanks
